In 2008, “The Ultimate Prom Night”, a reality series on 8TV, gave Hansen more airtime to flex his hosting skills on prime time. His excellent command of English and Mandarin, his charm and personality, his ability to command a crowd, and of course, his towering 6’1” stature has also made him a sought after emcee for functions and events.
After completing 2 short “on-screen acting” courses in 2007 and 2008 with the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) from Australia, he was hooked. In 2009, Hansen decided to explore new environments and this took him to Singapore. He was immediately casted for Channel 5 hit series, titled “Polo Boys”. Following that, Hansen was casted in a French TV series, “Déjà vu”, where filming took place in Danang, Vietnam. In 2010, Hansen had a diverse set of roles: He was cast by acclaimed director, Royston Tan, in his special short movie made for TV, “Birdsong Trilogy” and was part of the ensemble for “Aki Nabalu”, a mini-series for Astro Citra set in World War II. Playing Danny in “Crossings”, a 13 episode series about Bob, who has the ability to communicate with the spirits that takes over his body, showed his comedic side.
Hansen has just got his first opportunity to host on a regional level by guest hosting an episode of E! News on the E channel. He will also be hosting a new web reality show that revolves around shopping called “Truly a Shopper” backed by Tourism Malaysia.
