SEARCHING FOR TEPAK SIREH COLLECTION & HISTORY

Due to high demand, last week we decided to go to Terengganu to buy more Tepak Sireh to be add to our collection. Currently we only have 2 sets of Tepak Sireh which are not enough to cater rental reservation from our customers. We travel far to Terengganu not just to get high quality Copper Tepak Sireh but also to do some studies about it. All this while we only collect and helps others by renting it, and yet we have little knowledge about it. Did you know Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia are still using Tepak Sireh for their wedding (especially for those who follows Malay traditional wedding).

We searched for various range of Tepak Sirehs' Design to give more option for our customers to choose. One of our favourite is this round shape Tepak Sireh. It has that classic and exclusive looks. On top of it there are 5 cute copper containers which look like a few small golden apples. In the middle, there is a special container where you can place your "daun sireh".

We also bought the typical shape of Tepak Sireh. However, this type of Tepak Sireh comes in 3 types of carving (plain, medium carving, & most carved Tepak Sireh). It is said that the Tepak Sireh with the most carving was made from Terengganu and the plain & medium one was made from Thailand.

Normally, after the wedding the families and friends will eat the sireh leaves with "Kapur", "Gambir", "Pinang" and "Cengkih". In the old days, our ancestors even put "Tembakau" in one of the containers.  As a tradition, our ancestors presented tepak sireh during the wedding & engagement ceremony. They'll eat the sireh while discussing about the marriage planning. Some even believe if you wish to find your partner, you should eat the sireh from a wedding, soon you'll find your true love. Hahaha!! (I'm sorry, this is so funny). I've eat it though and nothing happen. Haha! I'm sorry ancestors. I'm not making fun of any of you. I love the tradition though, it does create uniqueness towards our Malay wedding concept.

Have you ever taste Sireh before? I don't know how to describe it. It taste bitter I guess. But, people said it's good for your health. Many are still using Sireh for traditional medication. Maybe you should try it some day for health purpose. Well, I suppose no medicine taste good. Huhu...

Anyway, Tepak Sireh price is so expensive nowadays and very hard to find. Before going to Terengganu, we've tried search for Tepak Sireh around Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Nilai and even Johor but it's sooo difficult to find and it cost hundreds of Ringgit. Usually cost more than RM300+. No kidding.

We know not many can afforf to but one. That's why we decided to rent our Tepak Sireh Collection to the public. Well, if you wish to buy it, you may do so too.

Rental price of Tepak Sireh per week:
1.) Plain design Tepak Sireh = RM20 only
2.) Medium carving Tepak Sireh = RM22
3.) Round shape Tepak Sireh = RM25
