Jeremy Sumpter

Jeremy Robert Myron Sumpter (born February 5, 1989) is an American actor. He played the lead role in the 2003 film version of Peter Pan. He is also known for playing the recurring role of J. D. McCoy in the NBC series Friday Night Lights since 2008.
Early life
Jeremy Sumpter was born in Monterey, California the son of Sandra and Gary Sumpter. His twin sister Jessica and younger sister Gigi have also acted professionally; his brother Travis is in college. He was raised in the small town of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, until he was eleven. He won IMTA's Pre-Teen Male Model of the Year award in 2000. Soon afterward, he signed with Mark Robert Management and his family moved to Los Angeles, where he currently resides. The gossip rags paired him with his co-star Rachel Hurd-Wood when they were making Peter Pan, but he's currently dating someone non-famous.
Career
His first movie role was in the 2001 film Frailty as the young Adam Mieks seen in flashbacks (played as an adult by the film's star Matthew McConaughey), for which he was nominated for a Saturn Award for "Best Performance by a Younger Actor". Following that, he appeared with Danny Glover in the Showtime film Just A Dream, for which he received a Young Artist Award for "Best Performance in a TV Movie, Mini-Series or Special - Leading Young Actor". His next film was Local Boys a family/surfing drama, with Mark Harmon and Eric Christian Olsen .
In July 2002, when he was thirteen years old, Sumpter was selected for the role of Peter Pan, a role traditionally played on stage by women; it was the second time a boy played the role in a live-action feature film (following the 1987 Soviet adaptation Питер Пэн). During filming he grew eight inches, requiring some filming and staging tricks to conceal his height in scenes filmed late in production. For example, the window through which he entered the Darling nursery had to be enlarged more than once, and his costume required alteration to continue fitting him. (He is now 6 feet, 2 inches tall.) Sumpter did nearly all of his stunts for the film himself. To prepare, he says he practiced sword fighting as much as five hours a day, as well as training in gymnastics and lifting weights. While filming in Australia, he supplemented his training with cricket and surfing. He won both a Saturn and Young Artist Award for the film.
In the fall of 2004 he starred in the TV series Clubhouse, as a boy who gets his dream job of working as a batboy for a fictional New York City major-league baseball team. The series was canceled by CBS after five episodes; all 11 episodes made have since been broadcast on cable/satellite channels. He then starred in Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life, a heavy-handed Lifetime-Channel movie about a popular teenage swimmer whose life is ruined by his discovery of pornography on the internet.
He spent the summer of 2005 in Oregon filming the teen comedy The Sasquatch Gang (aka The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang), released in November 2006. He had a small role in the film An American Crime, which played on Showtime in 2008 before going to DVD. He appeared in an episode of CSI Miami as the boyfriend of a girl whose parents are murdered.
He completed filming in 2007 of a supporting role in the 2010 coming-of-age comedy Calvin Marshall. Other upcoming films include You're So Cupid, Death And Cremation, and Prep School.
