On January 19, 2023, Prof. Dr. Waranun Buajeeb, Dean’s advisor, Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry, as a Director of NCKU Overseas Hub in Thailand, warmly welcomed a group of biomedical students from Columbia University, USA, to join a lecture program on “Innovative Tech & Procedures to Enhance Oral Care with AI”, as part of the “Biomedical Cross Cultural Education Program (BioCEP) 2023” of Columbia University. Dr. Binit Shrestha, a lecturer of the Department of Prosthodontics (Maxillofacial Prosthetics), conducted as an event moderator.

The guest speakers and their presentation topics are as follows:

1. “2023: Opportune Moment for AI Powered Dentistry Development” by Assoc. Prof. Somchai Manopattanakul, Department of Advanced General Dentistry
2. “The Current Use of Artificial Intelligence in Pediatric Dentistry”by Dr. Natnicha Sributsayakarn, Postgraduate student, Department of Pediatric Dentistry (Advisor: Assoc.Prof.Dr.Varangkanar Jirarattanasopha)
3. “Prediction of Nerve Contact to the Lower Wisdom Teeth from Dental Radiograph Using Deep Learning” by Dr. Dhanaporn Papasratorn, Lecturer Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

This activity was a collaboration between Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry and MU-NCKU Joint Research Center, held at 304 Room on the third floor of the 50ᵗʰ Anniversary of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building, Mahidol University Faculty of Dentistry.
