Kapitel Three: Darkness

The reality that is reflected toward the sky… in this hand.

image

Characters: Castor, Teito Klein, Mikage Celesteine, Frau, Labrador, Ayanami, Hyuuga, Konatsu Warren, Katsuragi, Kuroyuri, Haruse, Ogi, Shiroki, Nabiki, Miroku, Karu

Places: Barsburg Church, District 1 Fort Hohburg

Plot/Summery: As Teito and Mikage reunite Castor utters his fears about Labrador giving Teito the silver rose. It’s a precious rose and not one that the elder bishop would give away without good reason. He fears that something dreadful may happen in the future.

Mikage and Teito hug tightly as Mikage explains that he has much to tell the other but before more can be said he passes out in Teito’s arms collapsing to the ground.  Mikage is taken to the medical area where Teito had been before. Castor and Frau simply say the boy needs to rest. Teito quickly shows off his silver rose and proclaims that he will give this to Mikage if it will help at all. Castor rejects that offer saying the flower will only do good if it is attached to Teito, and pins the rose to the white mantel. Teito still wishes to help his friend but this time Frau rejects saying that Teito has not eaten since he arrived and drags the boy off to dinner.

image

The food here is a little different and Teito is not one for eating regardless. He is given a bowl of eyes and edible flowers. Not wanting Frau to eat his meal Teito quickly eats the eyes, learning that they eat the eye fish because they cannot eat meat within the church.

Labrador looks after Mikage while Teito is eating dinner, and becomes concerned with the boy’s condition. Something isn’t right…

Back in the First District
Ayanami sits in front of the board and they question him as to why he let Teito Klein get away. A group of soldiers stand behind Ayanami and speak in defense of the Chief of Staff, though their comments are a little less than helpful and only seem to anger the board members.
image

The board argues that Ayanami in his position should not have even been at the school and caused this whole incident to unfold. Miroku, the head of the board, comes to Ayanami’s defense stating that he was the one who told the Chief of Staff to come saying that he wanted to make Teito Ayanami’s begleiter. Ayanami thanks the man for the thought and quickly turns the subject to Teito’s memories and them returning. Miroku tells Ayanami that he is actually looking forward to such things occurring.

Back in Barsburg Church
An elderly man approaches Teito while the young boy is deep in thought about the condition of his friend and how Mikage even found him to begin with. The old man begins to speak to Teito about how his wife passed away and how going home would be too lonely since there would be no one there to greet him. He then asks Teito to tell his story.

The young boy obliges stating that he can only remember pieces of his past. The old man tells Teito those memories are precious and he should try harder to remember. Teito just does that seeing even more pieces of his past, even him with another man calling him ‘father’ as one would call a bishop or man of the church. Not the father he saw killed before hand.
image

Teito remembers many other things, that he was an orphan of the church and he was bullied a bit. But he was told to become stronger and overcome those trials. He remembered being happy with this bishop.  But the Barsburg Military came and uprooted their lives.

The bishop warns Teito that if the military were to ever learn that he was royalty of Raggs things would be even worse for him.
image

As Teito recalls events there is something within him telling him not to remember. He witnesses the whole scene of the bishop being killed before his eyes He eventually cries out that he doesn’t want to remember anything more. The old man retorts with a question about what Teito wishes for. Through his grief Teito says he wants to meet the Bishop that took care of him.

The old man declares Teito’s wish granted and places the mark of Verloren upon the boy’s chest.

Teito opens his eyes to find himself standing on another plane of existence face to face with the bishop. The bishop at once tells Teito that he is not to be here and should go back. Simply grateful to see the man again Teito darts forward to touch the other but is unable to touch him due to the power of the silver rose which acts as a barrier and pushes Teito back.

A robed skeletal figure appears behind Teito, protecting him with a warning that he will not allow the other to meet the dead and the image of the dead bishops cracks and falls apart like glass.

When Teito comes to there is no skeltal figure, just the three bishops protecting him from the old man, who asks if he may keep Teito.

The elder bishop has fondness for gardening and can talk to the flowers he takes care of. Often he is found sleeping in the gardens a bit uncertain of the going ons around him. This may be due to the visions he has of those around him.

Nickname:
Gender: Male
Race/Species: Ghost
Age:
Birthday: December 24th
Height: 5’ 10"
Weight: 149 pounds
Status: Alive but imprisoned
Relationships:
Occupation: Bishop of the Barsburg Church, Ghost Fest
First Appearance: Kapital 1 page 42
Last  Appearance:

Appearance: Castor is a fairly tall auburn haired man who wears glasses at all times. His eyes are brown and his hair goes to about his neck.

Castor wears the standard bishop outfit for his duties. The white robes with silver brooches and the mitre with the veil.

When not in his bishop uniform he is seen in a long dark blue coat, similar to Fraus’s only with a white shirt underneath so he isn’t exposing as much skin as his fellw bishop.  The coat is held closed with two belts and is donned with black gloves that he wears at all times.

Personality: Castor first comes off as a very friendly individual always smiling and quite helpful. He is also concerned for the welfare of others often going to help out in the hospital when needed.

He does have a short temper when it comes to certain individuals quick to snap at people like Frau. But patient to others like Teito whom he offered to help teach even though he didn’t have to. Going so far as to even include Haukern who he had no connection with at the time.

However Castor can be a bit manipulative as well, going so far as to lie and lure people into doing something they may not have originally wanted to do. He also likes to play tricks on people with the dolls he makes and controls. On top of that he is also merciless and was willing to kill Kuroyuri, who is just a child, at one point if it meant killing Ayanami as well.

Castor is first scene flying on his hawkzile with Labrador and Castor. He shouts a warning to Frau about flying too close to the rocks. Only after being a bit snarky that Frau is even alive after the landslide.

After scolding Frau once more for scaring Teito, Castor takes on a friendly air and welcomes Teito and introduces himself. He and the other two bishops go onto explain exactly where they are in the country of Barsburg.

Later a woman comes in with a child that has Verloren’s curse on him. Castor and Frau quickly heal the child and while Frau doesn’t wish to take anything as payment from the woman, Castor gladly accepts the offering, despite Frau’s disapproval saying such goods will be good for the church and those in need.

In the library Teito is introduced to Castor’s moving dolls. When asked how they move he simply states it’s because of his love and dismisses the matter quickly referring to Teito’s book instead. That matter isn’t explored at the time as Teito is grabbed by Frau and the two disappear. Castor and his doll undoubtedly follow and strike Frau the moment they see him for hiding porn in the library books.

image

Frau and Castor do ask what Teito is looking for and the boy explains about the war ten years ago. Castor informs Teito of what is written in the books and how Raggs was the one that brought the peace treaty with Barsburg thus starting the war and of course losing. He tells Teito the truth despite how it might affect him.

Frau

Back then, when you fell on top of me, wasn’t a coincidence. You are to me, who continues to be surrounded by darkness, my ever-guiding light. So please…stay by my side.

Occupation: Bishop of the Barsburg Church, Ghost Zehel,
First Appearance: Kapital 1 page 42
Last Appearance:

Appearance: Frau is a tall fairly built looking man. He is rather long blonde hair that is spiked up making it appear short. Overall Frau has a fairly intimidating look. On his lower back he has the mark of the Bishops and on his arm he has the mark of Verloren’s scythe.

Frau is older looking than he actually is being the youngest bishop of the main three and is in fact closer to Teito’s age than he appears.

Frau wears the standard bishop outfit for his duties. The white robes with silver brooches and the mitre with the veil.

When not in his bishop uniform he is seen in a long dark blue coat that is quite open in the front showing off his chest. The coat is held closed with two belts and is donned with black gloves and a bishop collar around his neck along with the silver necklace of the church sigil.

Personality: Frau comes off as rather brash and a bit rebellious not hesitant to pick a fight even with his friends. He says what is on his mind even if it can be a bit callous and mean spirited.

Despite this the children of the church seem very fond of Frau and ask him to play their games, showing that he has a much softer and gentler side. Frau also has a bit of a flirtatious side as well, hitting on the nuns and any pretty lady he comes across. He also has a substantial porn collection that is often confiscated by Castor and Bastien.

He does care about others often helping those in need without being asked. And when it comes to those he cares about there isn’t anything he won’t do.

Outskirts of District 7

We first meet Frau riding along the rock walls with Castor and Labrador. Despite their warnings he rides as close as he can just as Teito falls from the sky causing a rock slide. Despite this seemingly fatal crash Frau is fine and the three Bishops decide to take Teito back to the church

image

Barsburg Church -

The moment Teito wakes up Frau is standing over him offering him a crude greeting. Uncertain of where he is exactly Teito attacks Frau in an attempt to escape, almost jumping to his demise. Frau catches the boy just in time, still earning a knock against the head from Castor, being accused of frightening the wounded child.

The three bishops introduce themselves and explain they are clergy men and that is why they brought Teito to the Church. They allow the boy to clean up a bit as they go about their duties, such as helping a woman with her child who had been cursed with Verloren’s mark.

Castor and Frau encounter Teito later in the library, Frau taking Teito away when the boy uncovered his porn collection, hidden in the books. Castor finds it anyway and takes it away before asking Teito what he is looking for within their library. The younger explains that he is trying to learn more about the Raggs war that destroyed his country but what he’s found so far has been very discouraging. Frau tells the other not to be troubled and that there is never one truth out there. If Teito doesn’t care for the truth in history then he should believe in the world he sees with his own eyes.

Kapitel Two: The 7th District

The bonds of truth will never be severed

image

Characters: Teito Klein, Miroku, Mikage CelesteineAyanami Fea Kreuz, Weldeschtein Krom Raggs, Frau, Castor, Labrador, Athena, Rosalie, Libelle, Verloren, Jio

Plot/Sumery: As Teito falls from his vehicle he remembers a few things about his life. The snow of his old home, Chairman Miroku’s teachings, and his best friend. And how he became a slave after the death of his father. Before he can dream anymore a voice awakens him and he sees a stranger in his face. Frightened and a bit startled he attacks the man and attempts to escape out the window, nearly falling to his death. Teito is saved by that very man and meets another two people who are there as well.

They introduce themselves as Castor (the one with glasses) Labrador (The smallest of the three) and Frau (the one that Teito fell on). They tell Teito they have taken him to a church because they’re clergy men (Though Teito does not believe they are such a thing) that is in the seventh district.

image

Curious they ask where Teito comes from and if he is with the Imperial Army. Teito lashes out at such claims saying not to compare him to those people. Castor notes that Teito has a mark on his back, the mark of a slave. But those who enter here no matter their status are offered food and shelter. However, they will not be able to take Teito’s chains off. Only the military can do that.

Teito is cleaned up a bit and given a mantel with the church sigils on it and is shown around by one of the nuns of the church. They pass through one of the towers which holds a large statue of one of the guardians. The nun goes on to tell Teito the story about the death God Verloren who is said to have committed a terrible crime against heaven and fled to earth. The Chief of Heaven then dispatched seven heavenly beings to punish Verloren, called them the Seven Ghosts and they were able to seal Verloren. That particular statue was the guardian Zehel. The nun goes on to say that this Church is like no other as it supports the hearts of all people.

image

Teito heads to the library deciding he needs to learn more about the world, not just what the military taught him. He wants to learn why his old home Raggs was destroyed and his father killed. Before he can get there he finds a strange scene of a mother running to the church for the bishop’s help. It seems that the child has Verloren’s Curse. Something the dark servants of Verloren cast upon others. It’s easily cured by Castor and Frau and the child is fine.

Outside the seventh district the Barsburg Military is seeking out Teito, finding his hawkzile buried under the ground but nothing else. They know Teito couldn’t have done this himself but there are no footprints saying there was anyone else assisting him, nor pointing to a direction that Teito went in.

The guards state that the only possible place is the Church in the distance, however, if that is the case they cannot just march in as the Barsburg Church is a place of sanctuary to all regardless of their crimes. If Teito is there they cannot go get him. Unable to do anything the military flies back to Barsburg to report.

Teito eventually makes it into the library seeking out information on the Raggs war. He is again interrupted by Frau and Castor, Frau hiding pornography in the books and Castor’s dolls that seem to more on their own frightening Teito. When the bishops question Teito on what he’s reading and looking for the boy explains that he wishes to find information about the war ten years ago. He tells them that there were two countries each holding equal power. Barsburg holding the Eye of Raphael and Raggs holding the Eye of Mikhail. Being so powerful the two countries made a pact. But, ten years ago the Raggs kingdom broke that pact trying to take the other eye. Barsburg on the defensive was the stronger force and defeated and destroyed the Raggs Kingdom.

Teito is saddened by this information, not wanting to believe that his country was the one at fault. But it is what is written so that is what must be despite not being certain if the information is truthful. Frau counters Teito’s thoughts saying in every story there is more than one truth. “If you don’t believe in history, believe in the world with your own eyes,

Taking this information to heart Teito decides he’s going to try and recover his memories and learn the real truth. As he comes to that conclusion he sees Labrador singing and trimming his flowers in the garden. The bishop ceases what he’s doing and offers Teito a flower, saying that it is a protective charm. A bit confused Teito takes the flower.

image

Teito goes back out into the main part of the seventh district where there are bustling crowds and many people a familiar face catching his eye. It’s none other than Mikage who looks worse for the wear but alive and happy to see Teito. And the two friends are reunited.

In Canon
Warning. There will be spoilers here. From chapter one till present if this character has made an appearance recently. Read at your own risk.

Before the Exams -

Mikage first appears with Teito attempting to strike him. The blonde boy was attempting to tease his friend a little bit in attempts to get him to loosen up and ignore the other boys and their cruel remarks. And while Teito claims that they are best friends it does appear that Mikage is someone who annoys the other boy to some extent.
Despite this, Mikage proves himself to be loyal to Teito even getting the prestigious Shuri Oak in trouble when Teito was being picked on again.  Teito also offers Mikage a warm smile when the boy goes on to say that when he passes the exam’s he’ll fight for the country and to protect his family.

image

The two boys go on to train and practice for the exams, Mikage once again teasing his friend by making jest of his smaller stature. This earns Mikage the wrath of Teito’s temper.
image

The Exams -

The exam day comes and Teito and Mikage are paired together to defeat a prisoner. The two boys stick together despite having many classmates that dislike Teito. Together Mikage and Teito do a great deal of damage to the prisoner, leaving Teito to finish off them man. His friend is unable to do it and Ayanami, the Chief of Staff and high ranking officer of the military, does it instead. Despite their inability to defeat the prisoner they both manage to pass the exams along with only nineteen other students.

That night the two boys bandage each other’s injuries and Teito tells Mikage that he was once a slave and has never known his family, but because of their friendship he thinks it must feel like something like this. Mikage is moved by Teito’s words to the point of tears saying that he and Teito should make a promise. No matter what they would never abandon each other and that they should die together. image

Things sour quickly for the boys when guards come into their barracks the next day and search through Teito’s belongings while Mikage stands by. The blonde learns that Teito has been arrested for trying to attack Ayanami. While the reasons are unclear to him why this happened he still goes out at night and attempts to find his friend and rescue him.

The sight he sees is rather startling as Teito is bloody and surrounded by soldiers that he attacked in an attempt to get out. Mikage quickly comes to his senses and takes Teito’s hand regardless and leads him out. image

Try as they might to escape guards quickly surround them. Teito pretends to take Mikage as a hostage and apologizes about having to leave him behind, but he doesn’t want Mikage to turn into a criminal. Teito asks despite this if they’ll always be friends, in which Mikage replies; “Of course!"

Teito unable to waste anymore time quickly jumps onto a spare Hawkzile and escapes leaving Mikage behind.

Mikage appears entering district seven a little worse for the wear but happy to see Teito all the same. The two embrace at their reunion.

Ayanami

I must protect this country. I will protect it no matter what I’ll become.

image

Nickname: Aya-tan - by Hyuuga
Gender: Male
Species/Race: Warsfeil
Age: 34
Birthday: Unknown
Height: 6’
Weight: 152 pounds
Status: Alive
Relationships: Two panthers as pets
Occupation: Chief of Staff and Commander of the Blackhawks.
First Appearance: Kapital 1 page 15
Last Appearance:

Appearance: Ayanami is a broad shouldered silver haired man with violet eyes. He’s fairly thin and is said to be handsome, but also carries a sickly appearance, noted by other soldiers and Hyuuga. He wears the typical military uniform of ebony and gold, his holding a bit more decoration because of his position.  His uniform has an epaulette on the right shoulder and a gold bird design on the front. His hat also has golden trim upon it showing off that he is a man of high military rank.

When in Antwort he dons a heavy coat for the cold weather it’s black and silver with a high color and more decoration than what is normally on the regular uniform.

Ayanami is seen in the typical bishop uniform later on.

He is also seen in a fancy white ensemble for the Barsburg ball for Princess Ouka’s birthday.

Personality: Ayanami is a dedicated soldier willing to live and die for the country he serves. He has a deep respect for those that share this view with him. Field Marshal Oak and him shared similar views about what to do with the eye wielders and how to deal with them. He is soft spoken and polite when speaking to others, especially those of higher rank. Though he seems to have a very stoic expression and monotone way of speaking, seemingly emotionless.

However he has a deep respect for those that serve under him willing to put himself in harms way to keep them safe and unharmed. So long as they have proven to be loyal to him. New subordinates such as Shuri, do not have that same amount of concern or even respect when serving under him.

Ayanami is never seen alone as he always has at least one Blackhawk by his side, mostly Major Hyuuga, who is the only Blackhawk that causes that emotional mask to crack into something far more irritated. He doesn’t particularly care the antics of Hyuuga and will physically lash out from time to time.

The Blackhawk commander is a strong and very tactical individual. And quite patient waiting years and years until putting a plan into action. And he’s as merciful as he is merciless. If one is a threat to the military they are removed. But he will not harm those that do not need to be, even going so far as to have others show those kinds of people kindness. Ayanami shows kindness to those that serve him, offering them gifts but also keeping his distance from their close group, seemingly not wanting to get too attached, perhaps because of past events regarding his first Begleiter.

Before Canon
Ayanami has appeared in both the pilot chapter and the Begleiter chapter. Neither of which are canon.
The pilot chapter is relatively the same as canon except that Lloyd kills Mikage and not Ayanami. Of course this is later changed in the finalized version.

The Begleiter chapter is set some years before canon. It is focused on Ayanami and his new Begleiter, Yukinami, who is actually introduced later in the finalized version having a completely different role making her actions here moot and it is safe to say this particular story never happened in canon.

In this chapter we learn that Ayanami is quite famous in the military for his strategies and tactics but also someone quite feared as well. No one wishes to be his Begleiter because they are fired at once.

We see Ayanami is less okay with the nicknames that Major Hyuuga give him or of the familiarity of the other. Hyuuga goes to explain that it’s okay because they’re former classmates. As this is not canon it’s difficult to say if this is just something Ayanami got used to in the finalized version or was written out completely as something their time together has always been.

The chapter goes on to show that while Ayanami is quiet and keeps to himself there is something else that is preventing him from being warm to others.

image

More importantly it is made known in this chapter that Ayanami once had a Begleiter whom he trusted more than anyone. During a battle, Yukikaze gave his life for Ayanami, and since then the Blackhawk commander’s heart has been shut off from all others. This story giving the man a much more human quality instead of the icy emotionless commander that is shown in the finalized version.

image

Overall Ayanami’s personality is very much the same as the one in the finalized version just with reasons attached to why he is the way he is, making it much harder to see him as any kind of antagonist in this stand alone story.

image

Yukikaze has not been mentioned in the finalized version, though an image has appeared of a nameless person, calling Ayanami their king. But if this is Yukikaze it is not known for certain. Especially since the design of the two men is dramatically different. It could all very well be that this story has no meaning whatsoever and is before canon making every thing stated here moot and void in terms of plot and characterization.

In Canon
Warning. There will be spoilers here. From chapter one till present if this character has made an appearance recently. Read at your own risk.

Ayanami first makes his appearance at the exams for the students where he watches a less than impressive performance eventually going up and  killing the prisoner himself because Teito will not. He is shown with all his Blackhawks, save for Haruse, who may have been there but just not shown with the positioning of characters in the panels.

In killing the prisoner he startles Teito Klein but no more thought is put into it until the boy overhears a conversation that triggers memories that had long since been locked away. In the vision it is shown that Ayanami was the one that killed Teito’s father, causing Teito to lash out and attempt to attack Ayanami. The attack falls short due to Major Hyuuga’s interference and Ayanami orders Teito to be taken away for interrogation later.

Later that night Ayanami comes out to see about a disturbance within the building and sees Teito trying to escape. He casts a Zaiphon to try and stop the other, but Teito manages to put up a shield just in time to prevent a mortal wound. However, even though Teito Klein escapes Ayanami is hardly put off by it saying they’ll find him good time as it’s unlikely the boy will be able to remain out of their grasp for long.

Occupation: Former Slave, apprentice bishop to Frau, Prince of Raggs, former Begleiter to Ayanami
First Appearance: Kapital 1 page 1
Last Appearance: Latest chapter

Appearance: Teito is a young boy of fifteen who is fairly short compared to the boys his age. Origianally drawn with black hair and blue eyes it’s changed over time to  dark brown hair and green eyes. Teito has had a fair few outfits in his adventures through Barsburg his first being the military uniform that he wore when he was a cadet. Ebony with gold trip and all the Barsburg crest upon it.

When he leaves the military he is only in the pants and white dress shirt that goes with the uniform along with heavy chains to show his imprisonment. When the Bishops find him they give Teito a heavy white mantel piece to wear over himself so he has something a bit warmer during his stay, they can’t do anything about the chains, only a military official can take those off.

Personality: Do to a hard life full of strife Teito is a bit hot headed and can have a poor attitude. However, when he is alone with people he cares deeply for he is much kinder and open with his feelings towards them. Due to his rough treatment in the academy he has a hard time accepting kindness. Teito is also goal driven, when he wants something he will go for it no matter what it takes. Especially when it’s for the people he cares about.

In Canon:

Warning. There will be spoilers here. From chapter one till present if this character has made an appearance recently. Read at your own risk.

Before the exams -

Teito is seen attempting to ignore the bullying of his peers, though not very well Every word they speak about his slave status and sour disposition grinds his very nerves. So much so he strikes out against his best friend and is in seemingly no mood for MIkage’s antics. His best friend isn’t deterred by Teito’s usual brooding and after class they train all night to prepare for the exams.

image

The exams -

Teito is extremely focused even when being pared up with students that detest him. He doesn’t panic at the face of his adversary and leaps right into action with Mikage, even going so far as to save Shuri. Together with his best friend they manage to corner their opponent. However to succeed in the exams you have to kill your target, Teito refuses to do such a thing, ignoring the echoing words of the man who took him in. Before Teito can explain why he won’t kill the prisoner Ayanami steps forward and does it himself, saying that Teito is too slow.

Regardless of his inability to kill the prisoner both he and Mikage pass the exams and return to their barracks to patch up their wounds. Their Teito tells Mikage how he was a slave and never knew a family, but because of his friendship with the other boy he feels like he might know what it feels like to have one. Mikage is moved by the words and he and Teito make a promise that they will always be there for one another and they would die together no matter what.

The next day arrives and Teito overhears a conversation about himself. He peeks in and catches sight of an amulet that he had a dream about the night before. All at once a flood of memories overtake him and he realizes what his faint dreams have been about. Chief of Staff Ayanami killed his father and made him a slave. Full of unquenchable rage Teito leaps at Ayanami with little thought only to be stopped at once by Hyuuga, a member of Ayanami’s team. Teito is at once imprisoned for his attempted assault on Ayanami.

MIkage learning of Teito’s capture quickly goes to free his friend. They are unable to escape together and Teito asks Mikage if they’ll still be friends. The blonde responds with an, “Of course!” and with that Teito departs as quickly as he can. Ayanami won’t let Teito get away quite so easily and fires a Zaiphon at the boy. Teito only manages to throw up a shield to prevent a mortal blow and flies away on a hawkzile, leaving the first district behind.

The 7th District -

Teito flies all through the night after his escape eventually crashing into a large rocky foundation and sending a rock slide down upon some bishops. Noting the boy’s terrible condition and chains all three decide to take Teito back to the church.

Teito awakens and finds a rather frightening looking person in his face. Spooked, the child attacks the other and attempts to flee, almost jumping out of a window. Saved again the three who found him introduce themselves as Castor, Labrador and Frau. They explain how they found Teito and took him to the seventh district church as they are bishops there. When asked about who he is Teito barks that he is not a soldier but there is nothing that he can do to hid his former slave status. The Bishop, Castor, tells Teito not to worry about it for anyone of any status can find sanctuary within the Church of Barsburg.

Teito is cleaned up by the nuns and given a mantel to wear, there is nothing that can be done about the chains as only someone from the military can take them off. He is then taken through the church where he learns about the seven Ghosts that protect the country and of the one who committed great crimes against the kingdom of Heaven, Verloren.

Seeing as how he is going to be here for some time Teito decides to read up on the things that were never taught in class, like the war ten years ago, the war his father was killed in. While searching he received a small scare from one of Castor’s dolls runs and speaks to them of this matter. Castor tells Teito that it was the Raggs kingdom that started the war by breaking the treaty with Barsburg.

Teito is a bit devastated by this news as it means his father caused such things. Frau quickly intervenes saying that there is more than one truth, not just what is written in books. If Teito can’t believe in history then he simply needs to believe what he sees with his own eyes.

Considering this option the young boy runs into the other bishop, Labrador, in the garden and is given a silver rose of protection. He accepts it in mild confusion and as he retreats from the garden and as he does he sees Mikage entering the church. At seeing his best friend Teito quickly embraces the other happy to be reunited at last.
