Melaka

BACKGROUND

Zoo Melaka dan Taman Burung, formally the Zoo
Melaka and Night Safari, is a 54-acre zoological
park home to more than 1200 creatures, including
215 species of birds, amphibians, reptiles, and
mammals. It is situated across Lebuh Ayer Keroh
(Federal Route 143) in Ayer Keroh, Melaka,
Malaysia. Following the National Zoo of Malaysia
in terms of size, it is the second-largest zoo in
Malaysia. Both were founded in 1963.

The Malacca State Government originally owned
the zoo, which serves as a base for animal rescue
and a sanctuary, but the Department of Wildlife
and National Parks of Malaysia took over
management of it in 1979. On August 13, 1987, the
then-prime minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin
Mohamad officially opened the zoo to the public.
In 2013, this zoo has been privatized under Hang
Tuah Jaya City Council to look and improvize this
zoo.

Tourism Policy Implementation

Policies are carried out or not carried out by the
government, an individual, or a group in order to
overcome difficulties or achieve certain goals in
their organization. In general, policies are
strongly tied to government actions since the
party is responsible of defining policy direction.
A policy for facility and infrastructure
development is crucial since it helps to maintain
the environment's limited resources while also
assisting in the control of tourist influxes.

Tourism policy serves as essential guidance
during the implementation phase. However,
destination management must encourage
tourism organizations to develop and implement
tourist marketing plans in order to improve the
quality of tourism products and attractions.
Several factors in tourist policy development
include environmental conservation and
enhancement, also expanded job possibilities
that will benefit society by improving
empowerment and resource value. The policy to
enhance tourist destinations is aligned with laws
on the establishment of ideal tourist destination
regions in the local area, both morally and
artistically. Therefore, to maintain the well-
