Secret Garden Ha JiWon, An Actor is someone who Learns
I went to the public bath late during the day on a weekend and I saw avariety of things. People were finished bathing and all dressed butweren't going home and crowding around the TV. I was wondering whatthey were watching, and it was Secret Garden. Even after the episodeended, people were saying, "we have to see the preview for nextepisode..."
That day, I realized how popular Secret Garden was. Ever since itstarted, Secret Garden is the craze. People are wondering not only thestory but the clothes, mistakes, and spoilers, and ending. The stars ofSecret Garden are always in the news too. One of them, who plays thefemale lead is Ha JiWon. I got to hear about what kind of person shewas from her acquaintances.
Everyone knows that Ha Ji Won is good at acting. When watching her act,it seems like you are watching the actual character and not an actor. Ipersonally think she is the prettiest when she does "crying acting."
She admitted that she used to use eye drops when doing crying scenes. Idon't think anyone does that any more. Anyways, she has many types of"crying acting": sobbing, dropping tear by tear, weeping, having eyesfilled with tears, etc. I don't think there is any other actress thatcan cry as sadly and as beautifully as Ha JiWon does. That is becauseshe is so absorbed into her character.
The actor who acts like she is not acting. She may have many criteriafor choosing her projects, but there is one special point. She alwayschooses a role in which she can learn something.
In "DaMo" she learned martial arts, in "Hwang JinYi" she learned Koreantraditional dance, in "Miracle on 1st Street" she learned boxing andeven broke her nose, in "Babo" she learned piano and became anoutstanding pianist, in "HaeUnDae" she learned the BuSan dialect bylistening through earphones for months. This time, in Secret Garden, HaJiWon learned how to do stunts. She only performs acts that requirehard work to complete. This is the difference between Ha JiWon andother actresses that are pretty and good at acting.
She has been acting for 15 years but still she tries hard like a newactor. Maybe that is how she keeps the image of "the actress who isgood at acting, Ha JiWon". By asking her acquaintances, I learned thatshe is not very much different than when she was a new actress.
This may be trivial, but what left the biggest impression on me is whenshe goes out to eat with a lot of people. She is an actress who isalways supposed to receive special attention but she is always roastingthe meat and kimchi. I've never seen any other actress take the leadand cut meat for everyone else. Anyways, even though she has become afamous actress she is still easy going and simple. That is probably whyshe is always complimented.
When asked why she always took the hard road, she gave the best possible answer.
"Isn't an actor someone who learns?" (In Korean "baewoo" means actor and "baewooda" means to learn)
She's right. Because she believes an actor is someone who learns, viewers can watch her dramas and movies trustingly.
Even though she wears training clothes and a short hair cut instead of flashy clothes, she is always working hard and lovely.

Ha JiWon expressed that she was happy and sad about the drama ending by saying, "I still feel like I am dreaming a long dream"
She added, "To be honest, I lacked sleep so much that whenever I filmed a scene lying down, I actually slept. The scenes in which Gil RaIm was lying down, brain dead, were long, and I fell asleep every time. In the mountain cabin bed scene with RaIm, HyunBin actually fell deeply asleep and did not wake up easily"
Yoon SangHyun, who played Oska, added "In the scene where I was sobbing at JooWon who switched bodies with RaIm, Ha JiWon lay in the bed asleep"

Ha Ji Won: I don't know how to kiss.
(인터뷰①) "라임으로 현빈아닌 김주원 진짜 좋아했다"
(Interview 1) "As Gil Ra Im, I really like the man Kim Ju Won, not Hyun Bin."
In SBS weekend drama "Secret Garden," we interviewed Ha Ji Won (act as Gil Ra Im), an exceptional performer no matter the genres, ranging from emotional to intense action, nothing beats the "National Actress." When we asked her questions, HJW certainly a 100% comparison to "Gil Ra Im" when she laughs, showing that "cute" and "cool" expression.
"People said I can't kiss properly."
In the last episode of Secret Garden, she and Hyun Bin was starred in a couple kiss scene that even TV broadcast station has giving out warnings to the audiences with a rated 18+. How can HJW said she cannot kiss well? It does not make sense, right?
Ha Ji Won replied, "My fans kept telling me that my kissing skills were poor. I thought I did alright even in the past..." (HJW then laughed once again)
"I rewatched that scene that I thought I was really serious in filming that. But after I thought to myself, perhaps to the eyes of the viewers that I could be lacking some area in there. So therefore, I think next time I will have to improve it better."
The reporters seemed to like the kiss scene, it was filmed with such passion. But HJW instead told them the real story behind this passionate kiss scene.
"In the finale of "Secret Garden," there was a scene when me and Hyun Bin was kissing on the snowfield. This kind of kiss required two person true passionate feeling towards each other like we are a true lover. The feeling in this kiss scene compare to the party kiss and the cappuccino kiss are completely different. A feeling that is more of a warmth, comfortable, and a fun one. I felt like the kiss I did with Hyun Bin from before was kind of tiring, difficult, and nervewrecking. But after we got closed and through many practices (laughed) especially the one on the snowfield was a panoramic one. Me and Hyun Bin became so close that we enetertain each other and had fun with each other in front of the camera shooting, and gradually, both of us soon captured that beautiful picture of that "ideal lovers” for the viewers to see."
That is why many "Se-Ga fan-nerds" praised them saying 'I wish I can be in that kind of love like Kim Ju Won and Gil Ra Im.' The filming for the finale finished right on that final day of the 16th. As soon as the filming ends, it was not over yet. There came after many interviews and talks, and at that moment did HJW really felt the audiences' positive feedback and support. "Haha, people all around have been complaining towards girls who doesn't have any care to the guys suddenly changed and whine about wanting to have a boyfriend. They all blamed Ju Won and Ra Im for their sudden change of mind."
In fact, the love of Ju Won and Ra Im in "Secret Garden" was so engaging that it made the viewers' hearts filled with butterflies. And perhaps because of this, even though Hyun Bin is dating someone else, people still say such things like "I hope both of them date each other for real."
"Oh? This is my first time hearing such a thing," Ha Ji Won replied, "When I film with Hyun Bin, I see him as Kim Ju Won. As Gil Ra Im, I really like to be in love with Kim Ju Won. And even with other male leads I worked with in the past, we are really suitable for each other, but we still manage to maintain our friendship even when the filming ends."
"Well, have you contact with Hyun Bin yet?"
"Yes, only once." Ha Ji Won answered, "Isn't he joining the army soon? I think he will do his best there, he's a very masculine person that loves to excercise. I think he will do his best while in the army." |

Ha Ji Won: Tang Wei is like a friend that made me felt comfortable.
Actress Ha Ji Won was interviewed today when she returned back from China. She will express her thoughts on "Tang Wei - Another woman that Hyun Bin will soon to be working with."
On Jan 21st, Ha Ji Won met a famous Chinese actress Tang Wei at the Prada Fashion Show held in Beijing, China. When Ha Ji Won was interviewed, she expressed, "It was my first time meeting Tang Wei, and maybe because her and Hyun Bin has a relationship (not the lovey dovey one), that I think she is like a comfortable friend, it seemed like it."
Ha Ji Won continued, "We talked about movies, and I expressed my greeting to her opening ceremony for the movie 'Manchu.' When Tang Wei told me she watched 'Secret Garden' in China, I felt so happy and laughed."
Apart from SBS latest hit drama "Secret Garden" starring Ha Ji Won, Tang Wei will be participating with Hyun Bin in preparing the act for "Manchu" before the movie's opening ceremony on the 17th next month. Tang Wei was known for her role in the past movie "Lust, Caution," she is a famous Chinese actress and known all around the Korean mainland.
At the Prada Fashion Show in China, Ha Ji Won was the only Korean celebrity who received an invitation to attend the event. Famous world class actress such as Zhang Manyu (Maggie Cheung), Gong Li and Tang Wei can be seen at the scene, Ha Ji Won also expressed her greetings to Prada's President.
On another news, Ha Ji Won's visit to China has made her felt the strong popularity for "Secret Garden." Even when the drama ended its airing, the popularity kept on rising, and was very welcomed along the way. Ha Ji Won said, "I have heard that "Secret Garden" in China was a big thing. The truth is, when the Chinese saw the sight of me, they began to yell 'Gil Ra Im' to me!"
Ha Ji Won further spilled a little secret with us, "The female fans for this drama increased by a huge margin," she continued, "When I was visiting China, fans even waited for me in the middle of midnight at 2~3am, everyone of them greeted me with such an enthusiastic energy. I remember there was one female fan who kneeled in front me expressing her love for me, I felt so happy and so sorry to her! (I think she meant she felt bad)"
This year summer will be the release of Ha Ji Won's next movie "Sector 7." Ha Ji Won plans to take a break for a while first!

Actress Ha Ji-won rose as 'statement' terminator along with Hyeon Bin.
Ha Ji-won made an appearance in the previous broadcast on the 22nd, "Secret Garden Special – Unfinished Story". To the question, "Since when were you pretty?" she said, "I'm not sure I can say this myself but, from when I was born".
