According to Greek outlet Sports DNA, Aris Thessaloniki are interested in Karim Ansarifard. The 28-year-old has struggled for playing time since joining Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in November 2018 and could consider a return to Greece. Ansarifard spent 18 months at Olympiacos (January 13, 2017 – August 31, 2018), scoring and creating 30 goals in 48 games.

The Iran international signed a two-year deal at the City Ground but has found himself on the periphery for much of his debut season. Ansarifard has made only eight Championship appearances (137 minutes), scoring one goal, and may not have a long-term future in the Midlands. He’s below Lewis Grabban, Leo Bonatini and Daryl Murphy in the pecking order.

Despite this, Aris are looking to procure his signature to bolster their attack. The Super League side currently sit fifth in the table with 40 points from 25 games this season and won two of their last three. Ansarifard finished second in the Super League scoring charts (17) last season, just one behind Aleksandar Prijovic, so he’s proven he can impress in Greece.

Whether an official bid for the centre-forward comes from Aris this summer remains to be seen, however.
