Always wanted to have a pet giraffe, but the government doesn't let you because it's illegal?

Don't be sad, because you can now do just that.

Astro Awani reported that Zoo Melaka is now inviting private companies, government bodies and individuals across the country to participate in their 'Zoobilation' programme to raise funds for public exhibitions as well as animal conservation programmes.

Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council (MPHTJ) president Mohd Rafee Ibrahim told the news portal that 51 animal exhibitions have been opened up for sponsorship, adding that it would be an annual event to bring the zoo back to its glory.

You get to name a giraffe.
Mohd Rafee revealed that one can sponsor the animals at a minimum of RM20,000, while the sponsorship for the Asian elephant is RM2 million. The sponsorship, which will pay for the facilities and food, will be for a period of between 12 to 60 months.

He also told the news portal that the animals that are open for sponsorship include the Malayan Tigers, pythons, Malayan Tapirs, zebras, giraffes and other species. He added that the sponsors will get to name the animals and will also get a tax exemption.

So, guys, what are you waiting for? Go and grab yourself a real tiger now (not literally lah).
