Hey, did you guys hear the news? Elsa will be coming to Melaka soon!

But before you round up the kids and dust off that princess costume, we are not talking about the famous character from the animated movie 'Frozen'.

We are actually talking about Elsa, the white Bengal tiger.

When Elsa was a kid.
The New Straits Times reported that Elsa is set to be an attraction at Zoo Melaka in Ayer Keroh from 14 September onwards, just in time for the Malaysia Day celebration.

Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council (MPHTJ) president Mohd Rafee Ibrahim told the daily that Elsa’s arrival from India is expected to help boost the zoo's visitor count.

He said that the one-year-and-nine-months-old feline weighing 100kg would be quarantined for now before being released into the exhibit area.

Elsa was obtained via a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Zoo Melaka and the Sunway Wildlife Park.

"Elsa is one of our efforts to return the Melaka Zoo to its glory days.

"It is hoped that we will see an increase in the number of visitors, at least by 10 per cent," he was quoted as saying.

Now's the time to visit Zoo Melaka.
He added that soon the zoo will sign another MoU with the Surabaya Zoo to obtain a white male tiger for reproduction.

Mohd Rafee also promised Malaysians that more animal species such as lions, elephants and tapirs will be coming to the zoo in the near future.

If you don't remember the last time you visited Zoo Melaka, maybe now's the perfect time to do so.
