After 56784903 years and Taemin having to extend his military service due to being as mentally ill as we are we had to wait almost 2 years for his return but the day has finally come. TAEMIN IS BACK!
Taemin is back! World Peace is achieved once again. My skin is clear. My anxiety cured. My will to live restored. Wish I was joking but waiting for Taemin really felt like the longest duty of my life – why did this enlistment last so, so, so long? I feel like the fact that Taemin is such a massive presence on the k-pop scene (and not just our lives) made this enlistment seem even longer than it was because we are so used to Taemin releasing constant content and delivering exactly what we need musically. It’s interesting how no one still comes close to being on his level so I’m even more excited about his comeback and whatever future adventures he goes on. This also marks SHINee being together again and we are manifesting with everything we have that they will remember Europe exists if they decide to tour. Is that too much to ask?
Lina will link one of our favourite Taemin songs below but I wanted to say that in general, it’s amazing how his discography simply doesn’t age. You could listen to one of his songs from the debut album and still feel like it’s the first time that you’re hearing them. Whether it’s his Korean or his Japanese music, he truly is the master of his craft both for music and dance and no one comes even a little bit close. It’s no wonder that so many new idols cite Taemin as their inspiration and role model – absolutely deserved in any way. I’m so excited to see what Taemin has planned next – both solo and as part of SHINee or even SuperM if that’s still a thing – because whatever he does, I will be here to support him.

I can’t believe it. No one look at me while I actually sob my eyes out because I cannot believe it. It feels like Taemin was gone for way longer than most idols are (he was, he is special like that). I think the worst moment during Taemin’s enlistment was regarding November – when his original discharge date came around and since we never had gotten an official statement about his extension we were hit with the sad and brutal truth: Taemin would not be back until March/April of 2023. I don’t know man but this enlistment really took a toll on me and with us getting little to no SHINee contents it felt even longer. Well, those dark days are behind us and our baby cheese are back. NOW, we will never lose SHINee again they are back for forever and that feels even more surreal to me.
Anyway, baby boy is home and I have listened to his discography a very normal amount… no that’s a lie, Rise is to be heard coming from my speakers at least once a week for skin care reasons but Criminal is still the song for me. That’s where he snapped – my neck and my life. Well, we haven’t written a welcome back post in a long time due to time and passion reasons but Taemin truly deserved one. This discharge feels more monumental than other discharges. This is the day and I am crying actual real tears. I know Taemin will absolutely kill us with his next album and that SHINee comeback is about to change our lives. I just know this will save 2023. I am ready.
