Actress Rozita Che Wan is known for her flamboyant fashion and over-the-top lifestyle. While she has made a name for herself as an unapologetic diva, Rozita’s luxurious lifestyle has also brought her tons of criticism, especially on how she raises her daughter, Aaisyah Dhia Rana.
Recently, the actress, more fondly known as Che Ta, reached out to her followers to help track down the source of a statement that recently made rounds on the internet. The statement alleged that Che Ta was insulting the lower class group (B40) by comparing her daughter’s affluent life to that of other children. The post that Che Ta shared also included a comment from a netizen who said they felt offended by the actress’ supposed words.
However, Rozita claimed to have never made those comments. In an interview with local media outlet Hib Glam, the public figure denies ever insulting the B40 group. She also said she would never categorise herself or her daughter as upper class (T20), saying she has her hardships and still works to make a living. Che Ta also added that she feels saddened that some netizens would manipulate her words and make false statements to bring negative press to her.
A quick search shows that the original comment that seemingly belittles the B40 group came from a netizen who commented on Rozita’s TikTok video. However, the actress never commented or ever acknowledged the netizen who made it. Through her Instagram, fans show support for the actress, saying they believed Rozita would never make such insulting comments about anyone. Many also condemned those who first spread the false statement, saying it was slanderous. Some also urged Che Ta to sue those who made the false statement.
It’s unfortunate that some people would put out fake statements to bring down a public figure. We hope Rozita will take legal action against the perpetrator.
