Souk, Taj Mahal Palace and Towers

It's the only restaurant in Mumbai from where you get a bird's eye view of the harbour and the Gateway of India. Couples with deep pockets should consider booking the private Casablanca Room which comes with a private chef and butler.

    Dome, Intercontinental, Marine Drive

The best view of the Queen's Necklace and Arabian Sea in the city. Get in a little early, catch one of the high tables inside the bar and watch the sun setting over Mumbai and the lights of the Marine Drive Promenade coming on as day turns to night.

Marina Café, Sea Palace Hotel Colaba

Though it opened two years ago, it's managed to remain under the radar. Not only does it look straight out into the harbour, but you don't end up paying an arm and a leg for a beer. And since few know it's around, getting a table is easy.

    Aurus, Juhu

Barely a few metres away from Juhu beach, the seafront lounge is wonderful once the sun goes down. Apart from the beach-facing tables, Aurus also has a VIP table which is a canopy-covered, four-poster bed called the Shamiana.

    Gadda da Vida, Novotel Juhu

The beachfront bar is a great place to catch up with family or friends. The rows of sea-facing black sofas don't offer much privacy but guarantee a great view. If you are looking for a meal, saunter over to Bagicha which is at the other end of the courtyard.
