Located on 70th Rd in FH, placed right in the middle of the row of restaurants, sits Kuku. As FH continues to expand its Asian cuisines, I was afraid Kuku would just be more of a MFC. They are not. Kuku, although they do have Korean fried chicken (the new KFC), also touches upon some more traditional dishes, like tofu stew, bibimbap, and BBQ. They start with an assortment of banchan. Each banchan had unique flavors. I'm not sure if they're marinated in their own kitchen or if they're outsourced, but the flavors were excellent and the combinations were well thought out. Sometimes with multitudes of banchan, the flavors repeat with the pickled and soy based items. This was not the case. Okay, enough of banchan talk.
We started with the fried calamari. Perfect amount of crunch, has a spicy powder covering; the side of pickled vegetables were delicious - do not ignore.
We got the seafood tofu stew. Excellent flavors, plentiful tofu and seafood, amazing comfort food.
The bibimbap had a nice crispy layer of rice in the bottom of the bowl, veggies were fresh, brugolgi came in a sizzling platter separate from the bowl of rice - looks like a small portion, but there was plenty of beef for the rice.
Seating is comfortable; most of the tables are well separated from your neighbors. The modern design is much appreciated. Service is excellent - prompt and friendly.
Overall, probably one of the better places to eat around FH; a little pricey - over $100 for the meal above plus three drinks. Definitely recommend this place if you're around the area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for your wonderful review Sydney. We, indeed, marinate and make everything in house and we are particularly proud of our banchan . We are glad you enjoyed it.

The place was small but neatly decorated. There was a bar and some tables inside. The man at the cash register handed me a menu when I came in to ask for take out. He also kindly poured me a cup of barley tea as I perused the menu. Service is definitely very good.
I ordered their lunch combo of spicy pork and oyster stew. My husband had the chicken tenders and waffle fries. My spicy pork had equal amounts of thinly sliced marinated pork and kimchi. It had the right amount of heat and a slight sweet taste. The purple rice was quite sticky and there was plenty of bonchon. The oyster stew had lots of silken tofu and about 5 oysters in it. They had a slight bitter taste to them which was off putting. The broth however was very good. All together it was a very filling meal.
My husband got the chicken tenders and waffle fries. He said the chicken tenders were very good but the fries were a little too crispy. I tried them and they were unevenly crispy. Some parts were crispy and some were not.
I would really like to try other things as this looks very authentic. The problem is the cost. Our whole meal for lunch was over $50 for two people. As my husband said the chicken was good but not $14 good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Cozy spot, friendly staff.
I really liked the beef soup. Came with a side of rice and kimchi. There were spicy level options. Staff member helped me cautiously pick a level, I chose spicy. For me personally I could have gone up a level but no regrets. Was still very good. Lots of beef pieces as well.
Their menu offers a variety of Korean comforts and a few bowls unique to Kuku.
Nice to have a new Korean spot in the area. The drink menu was expansive, but I wasn't partaking that evening. I did see they had some lemonade options too.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Awesome addition to the neighborhood. It's been missing a Korean BBQ place and this places definitely fills that void. They are located on what I call restaurant row. There are plenty of other restaurants on this block and parking is metered and tough to find.
I know the area but I haven't actually been to the restaurant yet just ordered their take out. The food was delicious. I ordered the spicy pork and the short ribs. Both came with a side dish container. Nicely done.
Next move is to eat in.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

The decor here is so classy and beautiful, I love it!
The service was also phenomenal and our servers made sure our tea and water were constantly being refilled without us having to ask for it.
The seafood pancake was delicious and had the perfect crisp. The wings were decent, but were a little on the drier side.
The waffle fries were also delicious. Would definitely come back again if I was in the area and craving korean food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 27, 20241 check-in
Bosom was excellent and abundantly portioned. Kimchi fried rice was well cooked and mixed.

Beef short rib soup is the best! 4 chunky short ribs in the soup; the reddish cooked throughly with the soup, the soup is not like other Korean restaurants white and thick, it's actually light and clear which is what I like.
Came here many times, and the service is pretty good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
