LG Employees in Their 20s Contributes to Success of Lollipop Handset

LG Electronics¡¯ folder-type lollipop-shaped cellular phone which was planned and produced by LG employees in their 20s and 30s, excluding its executive board members, is leading the mobile phone market.

LG disclosed that its lollipop cell phone has become a hit product in the market as the accumulated sales of the handsets reached 80,000 units within a short span of a three week period since its release and more than 3,500 units of the handsets are newly-registered per day by mobile phone subscribers.

50 percent of the purchasers of the Lollipop handset were in their teens and the figure soars to around 86 percent when including the purchasers in their 20s.

The Lollipop handset is expected to be spread as a syndrome among the younger generation as its design and functions are expected to bring a hit since it has been specialized to suit the taste of consumers in their teens and 20s.

The Lollipop commercial song which was sang by a popular Korean boy group ¡®Big Bang¡¯ and new girl group ¡®2NE1¡¯ is receiving much attention and is in fact ranked No. 1 in all sorts of music sites.

The secret behind the success of the Lollipop handset is young employees of LG, mostly in their 20s and 30s. Young researchers developed the design and functions of the handset from the planning stage in order to conduct the current trend among young consumers.
