Elly Mazlein officially withdraws from "Gegar Vaganza"
13 Oct - After previously sparking much heated debate on whether or not she should be involved in the tenth season of "Gegar Vaganza", Elly Mazlein announced that she is withdrawing herself from the show.
The singer, known for her hosting alter ego Kak Lina Pom Pom, stated that it has nothing to do with Astro nor is it a gimmick, but that she decided to leave due to personal reasons.
"This is a fact, in which I have left GV forever. Yes. No more. This is enough. This is my own decision," she said.
However, Elly denied that a third pregnancy might be the reason for it, saying, "I am not pregnant. My husband and I are fine. My children and I are great. Praise be to God."
She also assured that she will continue to work on other shows with Astro, just not on "Gegar Vaganza".
The news was also confirmed by Vice President of Astro's Malay Entertainment Content Development Strategy, Raqim Ahmad, who stated that Astro respects the decision that Elly has made.
