Elly Mazlein unperturbed by backlash from netizens
4 Oct - Elly Mazlein is not at all affected by the backlash she received from netizens over her hosting "All Stars Gegar Vaganza", stating that she would always be accepting of all criticisms towards her.
The singer, who turns into her alter ego Kak Lina Pom Pom when she is hosting a show, stated that she has been in the industry for over 20 years, and is used to getting as many criticisms as praises.
"Sometimes people don't like you even when you don't even know them. Like I said, I can't satisfy everybody. Maybe they don't like me now, but they could like me in the future," she said.
Elly, real name Sharifah Aida Mazlina Syed Hanafi, stated that her Kak Lina character was created as a way for her to entertain fans.
"It would be tiring if I have to be Kak Lina all the time. I am my normal self when I am home. But when you're on stage, you have to have multiple characters, especially in an entertainment show," she explained.
It is noted that Elly was earlier slammed for her hosting technique, with some netizens stating that the show, which has been hosted by Nabil Ahmad and Jihan Muse for the past nine years except for last year, does not need three hosts.
