Elly Mazlein won't hike hosting fee after winning Most Popular TV Host

24 Jul – Elly Mazlein recently stated that winning Most Popular TV Host does not mean that she would hike up her hosting fee for future shows.

The singer-turned-TV personality, known by her moniker Kak Lina Pom Pom, stated that she always reminds herself that the entertainment industry in Malaysia is too small compared to the likes of Hollywood.

"We can't set too high of a fee because we understand that we're just a small industry. For me personally, I would think about the long-term plan. If we increase our fee, people might not want to get us to host more shows. The most important thing is to get a win-win situation for both parties," she said.

Elly, who won the award on Friday night at the Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian, couldn't help but cry on stage, saying that it took her 25 years to finally win something.

"Yesterday was the happiest day since I became an artiste from 1998 to 2023. 25 years, and who knew, my dream had come true... I will continue this journey with no regret, as long as I am still accepted," she added.
