17 Oct – Actress Lisa Surihani is embracing and impressed by the changes in the local movie industry, whereby productions are more accepting of artistes with families and allowing them more liberty with their work hours.

Lisa, born Lisa Surihani Mohamed, said that the changes will make it easier for actors especially those with children, as they will be able to balance work and family life. Not having to stay too long on set will allow them more time with their children.

"Looking at the previous working hours, which were more than 12 hours, in fact up to 24 hours per day, I may have thought long and hard before accepting any offer.

"But now the leniency from production companies towards mothers with small children makes my job easier," said the mother of one to BH Online.

The "Sinaran" actress added that as actors, they can negotiate with the producers and if both sides agree with the conditions, everything will go smoothly.

The 30-year-old actress, however, said that it depends on the production company since everyone has to do their job within the allocated time and depending on the budget.

Lisa also expressed her gratitude to her maid and her mother who always help to take care of her child whenever she has to be away for work.
