ColorChallenge - Wednesday Yellow - Spicebush Swallowtail Caterpillar
These caterpillars live in folded leaf shelters amd eat the leaves of sassafras and spicebush. They are thought to be edible mimics of the distasteful Pipe-Vine Swallowtail. (Peterson's First Guides: Butterflies and Moths)
This one was found at my aunt's house. She was baffled by it and thought it looked too cartoonish to be real.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hethur, it looks like this little guy fits into the "Wednesday Yellow" challenge. I don't know if there are prizes, but he's a winner to me. Coincidence, just viewed your dog photoessay. Good work.
I forgot it was yellow today! Darnit! Thanks for the encouragement. 😊
That caterpillar is a work of art. Love it ☺
I think so too!
