Spicebush swallowtail caterpillar

The caterpillar form of the spicebush swallowtail butterfly is considered just as beautiful and interesting as the adult butterfly form. There is a pair of large tan false eyespots with black blotches that serve to ward off birds by mimicking the appearance of a snake’s head and body.

I think they look like cute little cartoon characters!
