Megan Fox who started acting in 2001, appeared in some lesser known films before getting her big break in the Transformers movies, which was directed by the veteran action movie director and producer Michael Bay. Megan played the key role of Mikaela Banes in the Transformers films.
The Transformers franchise made her a world famous actress and since then, she has become a pin up star and international sex symbol; while appearing in several magazines, which are mostly published for men.

Megan was seen as the embodiment of the feminine ideal especially of the decade right after the 2000s. However, her career hit a roadblock when she publicly accused Michael Bay of being a tyrant on the sets of the Transformers films, which she had major roles in. She was subsequently denied further roles in the Transformers franchise.
After that, she was known to be struggling to get a suitable role which would complement her persona as an actress. Out of nowhere, she was offered the role of Lara Croft, in the Tomb Raider movies, which was originally a very popular video game franchise.
However, Megan turned down the role as she did not want to be perceived as "the poor man's Angelina Jolie." It seemed to pay off as later the actress is known to have mended her working relationship with director Michael Bay, who as producer, would later cast her as April O'Neil in the remake of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
