Shabana Azmi appreciates Zeenat Aman for her down-to-earth attitude; says, the diva continues not to play the star

With movies like 'What’s Love Got to Do with It,' 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,' and 'Ghoomer,' it would not be wrong to say that Shabana Azmi had a busy 2023. And now, as the year ends on a nostalgic note, Shabana Azmi reunites with the iconic Zeenat Aman for the first schedule of 'Bun Tikki' in Shimla, 41 years after their last collaboration in 'Ashanti' (1982).
Despite the passage of four decades and the inevitable changes that come with time, Azmi is quick to note that some things about Zeenat Aman remain constant. According to a Mid-day report Azmi shared appreciation for Zeenat Aman's calm demeanor and polite nature, which has been a part of her personality since she forever.

Shabana recalled that when the first time these two divas joined hands, Zeenat was already a big star, but she never had the starry tantrums. Even today, despite being one of the icons, she is ground to earth and continues not to play the star. Also, besides the pure heart, Azmi acknowledges Aman's timeless beauty.

Apart from lauding her co-star Zeenat, Azmi expresses her appreciation for the evolving atmosphere on film sets. She notes the positive changes and highlights how earlier it was a rare sight to see women taking charge in different departments of cinema. She also appreciates the shift in the casting process and the influx of actors from small towns and theater backgrounds, contrasting it with the predictable nature of earlier cinema.
