  • Assorted goods available operated by locals, especially females dressed in their traditional batek sarongs. Get fresh fish, vege and even local dishes of nasi dagang, nasi berlauk and all sort of dessert/starters. You wont goes hungry or broke venturing here as they sell their food at reasonable price. The location is just a stone throw away from the local bus station. Visit it and get something while waiting for the bus to perhentian or anywhere else.
  • This central market 90% mostly own by a Women .
  • With hypermarket like "Tesco" begin to operate in Kota Bahru and later on to be followed by "Gaint", Jaya Jusco etc etc, I wonder how will this effect the business of petty traders in this Pasar? Anyhow, only they themselves will determine thier own fate.
  • Seeing the difficulties faced by the petty traders, BN pledge to abolish "Cukai Bakul" if they win the general election. However this is already history. Good luck warga Pasar Besar Siti Khatijah.
  • i agree with didi. This is a serious issue,in kota bharu, either in realize or not. Hypermarket by hypermarket raised in Kelantan. Definitely,it will effects the small traders in the market. A big Giant building is in construction in front of the market. What will happen to this place? This market is the only one place in malaysia which is ruled by womenfolks overally. A unique place to the local peoples and tourists, either to get all the foods, stuffs or just to visit to get a self experience in kelantanese lifestyle. The Kelantan government have to think the way to revive and to maintain the place itself,as the tourism factors also. Although the market is the historical building, but the building itself doesn't have the local identity of the city. re-image the building, and provide enough facilities for both users and sellers.
  • Went there yesterday, business look slow! However I enjoined very much for my Sup Perut at attached building.
  • Yesterday on my way from settling personal matters back to the office, I have performed noon prayer and run across " Kak Yah " ( Sis Yah[Yah is Sis Yah of short name]).
  • true there will be challenges and competition with new, spacious and more convenient for buyer to go to but let's not forget that this place is rich in culture, so the local authorities can help to educate the sellers in Pasar Mek Jah to cater more towards tourists or food (frozen or freshly cooked) traditional Kelantanese kuihs or dishes. Kelantan has abundance of kuihs and traditional delicacies to offer.
