Known locally at Kampung Cina, K.T.’s China Town is of course a great place to shop for souvenirs and try all kinds of street foods, but it also is popular with photographers and sightseers. The area is brimming with culture and features colorful shophouses and revamped alleyways perfect for strolling at a leisurely pace. Pantai Batu Burok
Not far from city center, Pantai Batu Buruk holds some serious charms for locals and visitors alike. The sandy seaside venue is popular with families as it is a fun place to have picnics, fly kites and enjoy cool breezes from the South China Sea. Terengganu State Museum
Established in 1996 just outside the city on the banks of Kuala Terengganu’s amazing waterfront, Terengganu State Museum is the largest museum in Malaysia, covering an area of 27 hectares. The museum features seven galleries that stretch along four blocks and five traditional houses where visitors can get a feel for local culture. The galleries highlight aspects of the region through exhibits about textiles, handicrafts, petroleum, Islam, royal families, local history and natural history. Guests also should tour the nearby Maritime Museum while in the area.

Thean Hou Temple
Thean Hou Temple’s welcoming atmosphere has made it a fun place to explore for tourists. Chinese locals visit the temple daily to pray for good fortune, and tourists can enjoy watching or taking part in cultural ceremonies and activities, like crossing the Fortune Bridge for a sprinkling of holy water by monks. Thean Hou Temple also features a wishing well and medicinal herb garden, as well as ornate Buddhist statues and temple halls. Children get a kick out of the tortoise and koi ponds and 12 statues that represent the animals of the Chinese zodiac.

Crystal Mosque
Jutting out from the edge of Islamic Heritage Park (Taman Tamadun Islam) on K.T.‘s magnificent man-made island, the Crystal Mosque is a sight to behold, especially at night. The religious site is constructed mostly of glass and glistens over the water giving it the reputation as the most beautiful mosque in all of Malaysia. Called Masjid Kristal by locals, the mosque is illuminated at nighttime giving it an extra special glow that should be admired.

The Floating Mosque(Masjid Tengku Tengah Zaharah)
An evening visit to The Floating Mosque, or Masjid Tengku Tengah Zaharah, is a must-do activity in Kuala Terengganu. The mosque is built on a platform over a lake that offers a view of the South China Sea. The Floating Mosque is a wonderful example of Malay architecture with its marble floors and intricate mosaics. Guests are reminded to dress appropriately while visiting the mosque. Shorts, sleeveless shirts and short skirts are not allowed.
