Triple H’s ‘major announcement’ disappointed, but we did get two new Royal Rumble entrants

WWE originally hyped up tonight’s Preview Special 2024 on Peacock by saying there would be a “major announcement” from Triple H. So, what did that announcement turn out to be?

Nothing! There was no new announcement from Triple H on this show other than the hosts rehashing his news this morning on social media about Money in the Bank 2024 heading to Toronto. I guess that was technically the “major announcement” on this show too, but we already knew about it, so it was very underwhelming. I mean, even Tony Khan has better announcements than this.

Despite the disappointing “major announcement,” there was indeed still some news to break on this show. Two new Royal Rumble entrants were revealed: Becky Lynch and Shinsuke Nakamura are officially in the Rumble match on Jan. 27; now they can each focus on throwing 29 other wrestlers over the top rope en route to pointing at a very large sign and main eventing WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.

Shinsuke previously won the Royal Rumble in 2018, while Becky won it in 2019, for what it’s worth.
