NEW YORK (CBS) It's down to Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox.  Who will take home the coveted "American Idol" title?

Both are excellent singers and both can rock out to the guitar, but it will be DeWyze who will most likely reign supreme next Tuesday.

Even Though Simon Cowell predicted at the start of the season that a woman would win "Idol" this year, online betting sites are giving DeWyze the edge, with a one in two chance of winning. Bowersox has a one in three chance.

A poll of CBSNews.com viewers also shows DeWyze with an edge.

He initially started off a little insecure and shy on stage, but DeWyze slowly developed his confidence and the viewers and judges took notice.

On the most important week in the competition, DeWyze reached a high point and had his "moment" with his celebrated performance to Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" on Tuesday night.

The current momentum surrounding DeWyze might be in his favor to win, but any further speculation might lead to disappointment.  We all know what happened to Adam Lambert when he was favored to win last year.

Nonetheless, this boy-versus-girl showdown will be interesting to watch.
