Akihisa Ikeda (池田晃久) is a manga artist/manga-ka best known for the manga series Rosario + Vampire (ロザリオとバンパイア Rosario to Vampire). He's been a huge fan of vampires and monsters since he was a little kid. He says one of the perks of being a manga artist is being able to go for walks during the day when everybody else is stuck in the office.
Tsukune is able to stop the barrier with help from Hokuto. The Headmaster is also able to restore Moka's rosario.
With the school festival in full swings, past student return and being trouble. Also family members of student make an appearance. It was funny seeing the interactions with the parents and Tsukune. It was a nice relief from all the action.
Tsukune cousin also pays a visits, having suspicious about the school. The group tries to keep the truth hidden from her. She is given access to the school if she delivers an envelope. At the end, the ground shakes and a monster appearance.
I thought for sure that the barrier would be how this series was going to end, but we have one more volume left. I am hoping to finish this series tonight.

Rosario + Vampire is one of those mangas that constantly keeps me engaged and throws all sorts of fun and inviting characters at the reader.
I seriously adore this series! It is mountains full of fun and it just keeps giving us more. I didn't think I'd be this engaged continuously in a manga, but this book did it! I cannot wait to try to grab the second season once I finish through the last book of this season.
In this volume we are introduced to a whole bunch of parents. They all seems to think Tsukune is gonna be marrying their girls in no time. It's awkward, hilarious and cheesy but it worked well! Throw in another bad guy vampire (one you might not expect) and a few plot twists, and you've got yourself one fun plot! I also like how Tsukune and Moka's relationship appears to be growing even stronger! Hopefully we see a little bit of happily ever after for them soon.
Overall, this manga series is a must read in my books. It's delightfully fun! Sure, it has some immature humour but that is what gives this series its charms.
This volume was the perfect example of how I feel about this series... this volume (along with the 8th) was by far the best in storyline besides Ruby's storyline, but at the same time, it was so entirely predictable. I had a really hard time believing that Really? Come on... too easy. Also, what the hell is going on with Tsukune! "Oh don't do that or you'll die/your chain will break!!" and he does it and is completely fine -_- Also Moka... *facepalm* This series reminds me of parenting skills I see often these days...wishy washy. I'll tell you about these consequences but they'll never actually happen. Stop doing that Ikeda-san!!! Follow through on the consequences!! Either give your characters the consequences or don't...but stop saying this crap is going to happen when clearly it never will.
Also... what the heck? Super intensity and then suddenly "oh hey guys, it's the school festival! Let's hang out and have fun!" I'm tired of this huge thing happening and the next few days everyone is completely better and fine and forgetting about it. And the storyline with the moms was so ridiculous. Sigh.... The beginning of this volume was pretty good.
There are parts I enjoy about this series...but every volume's storyline is the same. So even though while I'm enjoying the books while I'm reading it, at the same time I'm thinking "Why am I even reading this?"
There is one volume left of the first "season" of this manga. And if something super awesome, amazing, or gasp-inducing doesn't happen, I don't think I'll even bother with the second "season." It's unfortunate. This manga had a lot of potential, but it just fell flat in a lot of places (and yet I'm still reading it :p)
So I got spoiled straight away but since every chapter is pretty much episodic, it didn't affect me too much. This volume was quite fun. I enjoyed it a bit more than I have been recently. Perhaps that's due to the big break I had in between the last volume and this one. The end battle of the first chapter was pretty pathetic and the rest to follow felt similarly so, but I've come to expect that. Nevertheless, it was fast entertainment. I was stopped short from the sudden vulgar language and the constant threat of sexual abuse to characters, both of which I obviously don't like, but the latter seems to be a strange desire in this series... The last chapter in this volume gave me déjà vu. I must have read that randomly before.
....Ok totally wasn't expecting Hokuto to be a human turn vampire just like Taukune. You got me there Akihisa Ikeda! I also didn't expect Kiriya to be the Vampire that's corrupted Hokuto either... The Festival was hilarious! The Mizore and Kurumu's mothers meeting Tsukune haha. And him really only wanting to be with Moka... And Mizore understanding that and make Ice Doll's of Tsukune to be with Kurumu's mom and Mizore's mom. Mizore, even with your faults you're still my fav! Though I want Tsukune to be with Moka...
The thing I like most about this series is that fact that each new volume shows more about the characters and reveals something new about them. I like the mix of characters and I think they create a good story.
Its just like every other book in its series.... EXCEPT 30 TIMES BETTER THAN THE LAST!!! I LOVE IT WHEN THEY FIGHT THE PERSON!! and I think the more in depth the series gets the more we find out about Tsukune and Moka~ AMAZING!!!

I really liked this volume all the way up until the last chapter.
Even though it's definitely a harem series, Tsukune and Moka have so much agency towards each other and the plot. The side characters *cough*Kurumu, Mizore *cough* can be really annoying at times, but they do occasionally show some good qualities.
But the last chapter started to show signs of incest between cousins, which is completely unnecessary and stupid. Tsukune literally has five other girls pining over him, and the last thing we need is a sixth who is also a blood relative of his. It's not needed at all. Unless you're going to take a serious jab at confronting a heavy topic like this, ahem, Game of Thrones, then don't do it for pure shits and giggles. Just don't.
With the destruction of school at a full halt and the defeat of Hokuto Tsukune and the gang can finally begin the School Festival and on time. But things don't absolutely go back to normal as a conple of Tsukune's friends' parents come to the festival. In others news even bigger trouble comes, too, and it doesn't seem this will end well for Tsukune getting a chance with Moka...or will it?
There was a fun playfulness about this series that I really enjoyed. The author threw in a healthy mix of comedic relief to each character and I loved how there were so many completely opposite personalities.
Ater concluding the School Festival story, the second half of this offers comic relief as everyone''s parents visit the school both Kurumu and Mizore have told their mothers that Tsukune is their boyfriend... Fun.
Rosario+vampire is a good akuma based manga. It has a good art style and a good plot line. The akuma concept is good and very entertaining. Characters are good and interesting.

Aunque empieza con mucha fuerza, el ritmo de este tomo es un poco menor que los anteriores. Lo bueno es el final que tiene, prepara para el último tomo de esta primera temporada.
I love Rosario X Vampire and even though there was the demise of a big villain, I felt like this volume was a bit of stop gap before the conclusion begins. Am frustrated. Can every other character in this damn series stop creeping on and/or simping for Tsukune and Moka?! They’re meant to be together but SO many others try and get in the way lol… 😅
This manga is not terrible, let’s just say that. But it has a lot of problems.
The art is beautiful and I think the art itself is where the author’s talent lies most heavily, not plotting. The plots of each volume…pretty laughable to even try to identify them with the idea of ‘plot.’ The situations are so see through you know well before anything goes down just how it all will end.
Fan service is always appalling when it happens upon a page, though expected, but some of the scenes are too ridiculous and insulting to bear.
One of the biggest things that turns me off when reading is how unfoundedly every female creature flocks at the main character. It’s stupid, unrealistic and makes the volumes hard to get through. Tsukune has his modesty, his kindness and his loyalty going for him, but the ladies don’t recognize those attributes and use them as a basis for their undying love for him. The love is just thrown in there to make him look like a big shot, a young boy acting as a damsel in distress, needing savior from the girls around him.
I think what keeps me reading these books (despite having bought them all for really cheap and used) is the incorporation of different monsters and what possible ridiculous motives they might have. That, along with the arc of the Rosario and the tensions and connections it creates between Moka and Tsukune. In the end, I’m still going to read into the “second season” to see if it will get any better. First series : 2/5 stars
