What a well written and paced story that left me with a million questions and a doozy of a cliffhanger to mull over. This is my first read by this author and I'm pleasantly surprised that her writing was perfect fit for me. The story is about a girl and her parents who relocate to a different part of California after a big incident happened (I still don’t know what happened). Becca Torrence struggles to make friends and fit in at her new high school in Credence.

”It’s going to be okay, Becca. New town, new friends, a fresh start.”

What Becca didn’t forsee was a girl named Kendall who is determined to make her life miserable. I mean this girl takes bullying to the next level!

description

So daily Becca braves her high school struggles to fit in with a new group of friends, dodges Kendall, and slowly starts falling for the hot broody, Evan. Things are coming along though she has changed her appearance and has put her college plans on hold the love bug seems to have bit her!

"I shouldn't...we shouldn't..." His eyes dropped to my mouth as he rasped out, "Fuck the rules. I'm done trying to be the good guy."

description

Still the attacks against her slowly start to get personal as does the fact that Kendall or whoever seems to know more about Becca’s past than she hoped. The story ends on a jaw dropping cliff that was well played. All that is left for me to do is hope a release date for the sequel is announced and that it’s soon. Overall a well written story of a high school senior who keeps her past quiet and is surrounded by LIARS.

After a mysterious incident that changed Becca Torrence's life forever. She now finds herself in a new town and a new high school. A fresh start for her and her family. Except instead of friendly smiles, she is greeted with harsh words and taunts.

Desperate to fit in and keep her past a secret Becca slowly changes into a whole new person. Fitting in finally with a group of outcasts and growing closer to the mysterious EVAN, Becca finally feels hopeful.

That is until she overhears a conversation that leaves her reeling and everything she thought she knew as truth has turned into lies.

This book was equal parts AWESOME and FRUSTRATING...

description

Awesome because it sucked me in from page one. I literally had to force myself to set this aside last night to get some sleep. It is well written. With interesting and well-developed characters. Each one shrouded in a veil of mystery that left me coming up with ALL sorts of conspiracy theories.

Frustrating because by the end I STILL had no answers to ANYTHING. What happened to Becca?? Why did her family have to move? Why does Kendall have it out for Becca?? What is Evan hiding?? SO many questions and not a SINGLE answer!

description

Look I know this story will continue in book two (out in 2017) and presumably, all our questions will be answered then, but throw us readers a bone at least. Something...ANYTHING! Still, even though I was left wanting to throw my tablet across the room, I will be not so patiently awaiting the next book. So this gets a solid two thumbs up from yours truly.

LIAR, LIAR: Life hasn't been easy for eighteen-year-old Becca Torrence, now it's just gotten worse when the family uproots leaving an opulent life as they knew it behind in Montecino and moves to a new town and leaving the secrets behind buried in the town they moved away from.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

She's starting a new school, a new beginning, with new rivals. Expecting to walk through the doors of her new highschool with plastered on smiles and greetings from her fellow pupils didn't happen like she expected, instead she got glares and taunts.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Highschool drama at it's best, the hot guy, the mean girls and just trying to keep her head down and fit in has a target on Becca's back that she didn't anticipate. a girl named Kendall has Becca in her sights and takes bullying to the highest level of evilness, Kendall hates Becca with a vengeance and she has no clues as to why.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Enter in Evan, the hot guy who always seems to turn up when she needs him the most, rescues her from one bad situation to the next. He was like a tap, cold one minute hot the next, like a light switch, on one minute, off the next. It's hard putting a label on what these two are, she's really into him, but he just wants to keep what they have under wraps, a dirty little secret that no one knew about.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic He was too...too everything. Brooding. Mysterious. Everything about him screamed bad boy, and I did not need that in my life right now. Not again..Not ever.

Trying to reinvent herself and fit into Credence High she leaves the old Becca where she belongs, in her place is someone even she doesn't recognise when she looks in the mirror. Gone are the designer clothes, the expensive jewelry and in it's place is plastic bangles and pre-loved op shop clothing.

This is only the second book I've read by this author and like the previous one she drew me into the story line as soon as I read the first page, so many unanswered questions, like a puzzle with missing pieces, the story flows effortlessly, the drive to read what happened to Becky had me glued to my ipad throughout.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Life in her new town seemed to have settled down for a bit, then a whole new level of craziness was unleashed. What seemed harmless with the notes, and threats had nothing on what came.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This here is getting my 5 star rating because all the way through I was invested in the story, not once did my mind wander, or skip pages, now to address the elephant in the room, this here ends in a woza of a cliffy, and all throughout the book you'll have so many unanswered questions that won't be answered until the next book, the reasons to why they left their old life behind so suddenly is glossed over, but you know it's bad.

So much angst, drama, lies, deceit, love, friendships put to the test and under question.

OMG, I gobbled this book up in one day. This books was so amazing! It should, however come with a cliffhanger warning. It leaves you on a doozy. So, it's kind of a typical high school angsty tale of the new kid coming to school. Although it keeps hinting to an event in Becca's past that had her family packing up and dropping their whole life and moving to a new town. Clarity on the event doesn't come entirely but some hints are dropped. When Becca gets to the new school, the bully immediately takes aim at her. In a way that is kind of suspicious like there is more to the story. Evan is the guy she meets on the first day that starts to look after her. He is very swoonworthy! She does find a group of friends to hang with but they all have their own secrets too. So many questions and not nearly enough answers. Will be dyyyyyyyying until the next part of the story comes out.

Wow! 5 Stars of suspense.

From the first chapters of Liar Liar I was captivated, the whole book is like a spiders Web of deceit and secrets and Becca was stuck in the middle with no way out except maybe Evan.

Right from the beginning of Liar Liar the plot let's you know something serious went down with Becca, something that caused the whole family to uproot from their afluent life style to a town where no-one knew them.

Credence was a town of trailer parks and poverty and a far cry from what they were used to.

Becca is a girl on a journey to a new self, shedding the old and embracing the new. Gone are the designer clothes of her past in her attempt to fit into a new school and make new friends, except the friends part wasn't that easy.

Throughout Becca's story there's intense bullying, twists and turns as the plot thickens and Becca's new life is grim until Evan, the boy who takes interest, comes to her rescue more than once and unlike all the others in Credence he seems to care.

Becca: Something in him touched the broken pieces in me and I couldn’t resist him.

He was like a drug and teetering on the edge of addiction.

I was still trying to figure Becca out as much as Becca was trying to figure herself out, she was a girl in limbo stuck between the old and the new with a shadow of lies cast over her, like a rain cloud and the storm was coming.

Evan he to was a mystery too, wanting to keep their relationship secret from the bully's, he was a loner and a guy who seemed to be dark, mysterious, a boy in the background but carrying a presence that got him noticed.

There was more under the surface of all the characters involved and all the suspense had me eagerly turning the pages wanting more and reading Liar Liar in one sitting.

Becca:
The way he watched me. Showed up as if he was always around, hiding in the shadows.
Everything about Evan Porter should have screamed stay away.
It didn't.

Told in Becca's pov, from beginning to end I loved this book and L.A Cottons ability to keep me hooked throughout with the brilliant descriptive words, imaginative scenes and the balance of angst and mystery within the plot, the hot scenes were a bonus too.

Favorite scene that made me chuckle:
"Did you just smell my car"
The almost playful tone was back in his voice, if a guy like Evan could be playful
"Maybe"

Looking forward to reading more and I will be eagerly awaiting the conclusion of Becca's story.

I finished reading book 2 of this duet today! I was fully immersed in it!
From the plot to the characters, the suspense, and the emotions… it was an incredible read!

My heart was in my throat most of the time. Becca’s enemy was so cruel. It really hurt reading some of the things she went through, especially on top of what happened to her in the past. I loved her though. She was so broken and she just wanted to fit in and make friends. I just wanted her to catch a break.

Evan was so great from the moment he first appeared, even when he tried to keep his distance. I soon fell in love with him and his little brother, Eli. Gosh, that kid was the cutest! I loved their moments, and how much he adored Becca. It was so sweet.

Pretty much every character in this duet is dysfunctional in some type of way. They all have a hard life and have been through it. They are all keeping secrets. Secrets that hurt a lot of people when they come out. Prepare yourself for some emotional scenes that will have your heart aching.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I have to say… I have some very mixed feelings about it… originally, I signed up for it, because I loved another story written by this author, so when I saw this opportunity I jumped on it, wanting to see how I will like her other work… and as much as I still absolutely love her writing style, this particular story just wasn’t my cup of tea… I gave this book 3,5 stars for many reasons that I will try my best to describe to you in my review ;)

Let me start with saying a little bit more about the story itself… so in this young adult book we follow Becca’s story… she and her parents moved from this more rich neighbourhood to a whole new town a few hours away, because… well… I still don’t know why exactly ;) but I will get to that in a second… Becca is now attending as a senior in high school in a whole new school with quite different people than she is used to… we see how she adjusts, or at least tries to, and how all the little lies she says along the way ultimately start to weigh her down more and more… my main problem with this book was that I learned about half way through it, thanks to reading one of the reviews that were already up on Goodreads, that this book ends in a cliffhanger… meaning it’s NOT the whole story… which I was not aware of before… *sighs* that definitely explained the long and slow beginning of the book… and by beginning, I honestly have to say that I felt like the majority of the story was just a big intro to what’s gonna happen next… so even if I’d wanted to tell you some more details, and I don’t do stuff like that because of my no-spoilers rule, I couldn’t ;) because after finishing this book I’m sitting here with soooo many questions and practically zero answers… ;) #NoJoke

As much as I loved the writing style, and trust me, I will definitely read some other work by this author, this story… and this character… *sighs* I definitely had some troubles with it all… I think one of the reasons why, is that I am a bit older than Becca… ;) just recently I started to put 3 at the front of my age, so there is quite a gap between us ;) but even when I was younger, I had problems with that whole angsty and full of drama young adult stories… I get that there’s a reason why they are written that way, but… it’s just not my scene ;) I think it would help me, if I would actually get to know more about Becca… because there are a few things that are mentioned very mysteriously in a sentence or two, without giving us any actual answers about what happened and why Becca is the way she is now, which made it that much harder to connect with her as a character for me… some of the things she did were hard to understand, and I have a feeling, that if I knew more, it would make it easier for me to sympathise with her or at least try to understand her… because there were a few questionable choices, I would call some of them even toxic-ish, that made it really hard to root for her… so I’m hoping that the next installment will give us much more informations and background, about not only Becca, but also all other secondary characters that played an important part in this book… because let me tell you… this town is filled with people harboring all sorts of secrets and mysteries… and I don’t know anyhing about them either!!! ;) it’s definitely frustrating… but I am looking forward to the second book, and hopefully the conclusion to this story and actually getting some answers ;) don’t get me wrong, I absolutely don’t want to discourage you from trying it out ;) I just want you to be prepared for what’s gonna wait for you in this book ;) if this sounds like something that you might enjoy, then definitely give it a go ;) I can assure you, the writing style is definitely worth it, as to the story and characters… well… we all have our own personal preferences ;) I shared with you mine and hopefully it will help you make your own decisions ;)

XOXO

This book had me on the edge of my seat!! I haven't read such a good cliffhanger in a long time. All the unanswered questions... Mysteries... I just couldn't put this book down. I loved the complexity of the story and the characters. There was no way of guessing what happens next, and let me say CLIFFHANGER!! This book has the biggest cliffhanger ever.

Becca and her family moves after an "accident". Leaving their rich lives behind in Montecino. Moving to a town where all the kids have some kind of issue at home. These kids drink and party, even smoke some weed...
Becca is taken under the wing of Scarlett Peters. Scarlett and her group of friends usually hanged out at The Vault or at Rogues. Taking Becca with them, and slowly making Becca forget who she was.
Suddenly Becca became the target of the popular Kendall O'Hare, and her life just plummeted from bad to worse. Death threats, notes in her locker. Kendall hated Becca and she had no idea why.

Trying to hide who she really was, and trying to adapt in Credence High was too much to bear. At some point Becca was going to cave. But then Evan Porter, mysterious and handsome, weaved a way into her life. He helped her to forget.
But then one day, she realised that something was out of place. Why did Kendall react the way she did around Evan, why did he want to keep them a secret and most of all - who kept on leaving notes in her locker?!?

This book was so well written, and I really can't wait for the next book!! I need some answers!!

Liar Liar is the first book in L.A. Cotton’s Truths and Lies Duet, which is an angsty high school romance, filled with drama, suspense and tragedy.

Expectations are set up for what Becca want’s from this change in her life and the below quotes from the first chapter were a great view into that:

No more secrets…
No more hiding…
No more lies.
—————
My new home.
My fresh start.
My escape.

Becca’s story does take a little time to come out. There’s hints to her past, but it’s hidden away and she’s not the same person that she once was. She spends a great deal of time thinking about who she was, and at times I just wanted the story to open up and tell the “before” life. I’m not usually impatient when reading, but there was something missing from capturing me fully.

The character growth and developing story is written ok, and with a fitting title. I just wished that there were more descriptive moments written throughout, as scenes lacked information for what I thought were key descriptions. That could just be a me thing, but as an example, I felt like I didn’t know who Becca was for a little bit - such as hair and eye colour, and at times her clothing and the scene around her.

I can see that my review for this story is overall mixed, and I guess that comes down to how I felt when reading this. I was excited about an older duet being revamped and I was intrigued enough to purchase this book. I’ll probably finish the duet at a later stage.

I simply could not put this book down!

Becca's family has a huge secret. Something that caused her parents to leave their privileged life to start over with new low-key, low income lives somewhere far away. Becca lies about her past in order to prevent her new peers from connecting any dots that lead to who she really is. These lies continue to snowball, as we know that is often the case. What is she hiding from?

To make matters worse, the girls at her new school are the worst kind of vindictive, hateful bitches. They harass and hurt her. She takes refuge in a small group of outcasts that often hang out together after school. Here enters Evan. He's quiet, mysterious, and as it turns out, has a secret of his own.

The author does a great job of keeping you hooked as you read on grasping for more. I could not put this book down! The inner turmoil and emotions that Becca experiences are not lost on me. They are so well-written I could clearly feel them for myself, having felt some of that in my own teenage years. I can't wait for the next book to see where this story takes us! The ending to book one had my heart in my threat!

Absolutely perfect! I was totally captivated by this deeply intense and poignant read full of twists and turns. Becca's story is especially relevant considering the political climate in the USA concerning bullying and acceptance.
Raw, realistic and emotional, Becca's secrets, and demons were so brilliantly written, her story was easy to relate to. Her hot steamy romance with Evan was an added bonus and gave another dimension to the story.
Although it ends in a cliffhanger, this read is not to be missed! I cannot wait for book 2.

Liar, Lair marries high school angsty drama and a bit of mystery in this mature young adult story. Recently reditted and recovered, LA Cotton takes us back to the days of young love, bullies, and growing pains, only with stakes that feel decidedly more ominous.

This is the first part of a duet, and La Cotton does a great job of creating a foreboding and enigmatic tone to set the stage. The mystery centers around our heroine Becca, once a happy girl from an elite and wealthy family whose family has recently uprooted and moved to a new town to escape something tragic. We have some clues, but for the most part we don’t know just what led to their sudden relocation. But that’s not the only enigmatic element. Becca finds her in a school that isn’t quite as elite as her former one- GASP with working class people and mean girls and kids who party- and finds herself mixed up with a new friend group that’s a bit hot-and-cold towards her as well as push-pull attraction to mercurial loner, Evan.

The melancholic and pernicious foreboding in this story make it quite the page turner. Both Evan and Becca are clearly flawed characters, but they’re interesting and their chemistry is both dynamic and perplexing. We have a set of fun and lively secondary characters that help keep the plot moving, as well as a group of predictable and archetypal mean girls who have it out for poor Becca. What I think I loved most relationally was actually how much LA invests in Becca’s relationships with her parents- for once in a mature YA romance we see functional, devoted, and involved parents who have clearly made some real sacrifices to protect their child.

I love the mysterious feel of this paired with the theatrics of high school drama. It’s fast paced and entertaining- and I love seeing a grumpy hero build a connection with a clearly traumatized heroine. But it does work up to a climax that is…well, just perplexing. Perhaps it’s the current times, or my own cynicism, but we don’t get the truth behind Becca’s larger secret (though there are plenty of clues), but her bullies expose her for being formerly rich and elite. And, I just can’t seem to wrap my brain around being bullied and upset because you’re wealthy and have been exposed for it. Not to mention, her being upset when she finds out the reason her friends befriended her. Of course, I don't want to spoil, but this doesn’t quite seem like the betrayal to me that Becca takes it. Perhaps this has way more to do with Becca’s other secret, so I’m hoping the pieces come together better for me in Book 2. I loved it up until the climax, and then can’t help but feel it’s a giant overreaction. But, we haven’t seen the fall out since we have a cliffhanger, so looking forward to the conclusion and figuring out just what really is at play.

What would you do if you got into trouble and over your head? Would you have your families back? Would they do everything that they could in their power to support you and help you get a fresh new start? For Becca, that's what her family did as they packed up and moved across the country to a small town where nobody knew them except a friend of her father's and where nobody knew her past as how could they when she is a million miles away. Becca's former life was one of riches, country clubs and she was the Queen B. That was until she fell in love with the wrong guy and tragedy ensured. Becca is just beginning Creedence High School and it seems that being the new girl isn't as easy as she thought it would be at this school and the students are far from her usual crowd and seems that she has already rubbed the school bully Kendall up the wrong way. Luckily she has the backs of her new friends Scarlett and Evan or is all not what it seems ? What will happen when notes and threats and text messages start to appear that look like someone knows exactly who she is and what she is running away from ? Liar Liar was intense and I had hoped that we had a bit more of a deeper look into Becca's past - maybe that might come in book #2 and OMG that last chapter had me screaming as I was like NOOOOOOOOO when it finished. Sorry readers, Liar Liar ends on a major cliffhanger and if you are like me and hate them then I would hold off reading this series till Book #2 arrives as now I really want to know how the characters are connected to Becca's past or if they are part of a different conspiracy ? Liar, Liar was an awesome romantic teen suspense and fans of show like The Lying Game etc will enjoy and find themselves at home with .

I was so excited for this book. I loved the story. The tension. The suspense. The teenage angst! Ugh! All of my favorite things about YA/NA.

Becca and Evan were lusty glances and far-off flirting. I liked it. It seems something a couple of teens would put themselves through. Plus with her being the 'outcast' at school because she's new and her struggle to find where she fits in, it just built a delicious sense of "more, please".

I loved Becca's inner thoughts. Everyone struggles at as a teen, especially a teen in a new school in her senior year. Image, friendships, all of that were on display in her head.

Sadly, that's where what I liked about this book stopped. This book provided zero answers to any of it's posed questions. I wanted to know so much but it leaves you hanging, hoping you'll come back to read the next one. I was finished reading it and seriously thought "WTF was THAT!?"

Issues about why her family moved, the mysteriousness behind Evan, the whispers about her at school, why her new circle of friends does what they do ... all of it pondered, none of it answered. I am not even sure I want to devote any more time to this story. Am I curious? Yes. Am I so curious that I feel the need to buy the next story? *shrug* Meh.

I do think that Cotton has a lot of potential in this book and I wish she would have at least answered ONE of the bigger questions before the book was over. Or even hinted at an answer. I just feel shorted with this one.

Based on writing and the story, I'm giving this one a strong 3.75 stars. Yes, that's weird, but so am I. ;)

How One little white lie can turn your world upside down!!
I was given a ARC copy of Liar Liar for a honest review,
Well where do I start ? WOW comes to mind straight away, This book is amazing, it's one of those books that keeps you on the edge of your seat and make your heart pound in your chest so much you think it's going to jump out your rib cage,
I could not put it down, I had to see if this story ended badly Becca or not,

Becca and her family had to move from a prestige life style, home and school, to a little town where no one knew them and about their past life they had to leave behind,

All Becca had to do was finish of her senior year at a small school called Credence high and keep her head down before she went to uni, " easy" or so she thought,
Becca had to find herself a new life a new identity and find her own people, easier said than done when you have all the kids in a small town staring at you and sniggering behind your back,
I loved the characters in this book they were written really well and matured through out the story,
I loved this book and the style in which it was written, L A Cotton is fabulous when it comes to YA stories,
I highly recommend this book and trust me your in for a White knuckle ride, so buckle up your seatbelt folks and enjoy the ride,

These are my Happily Ever After Novel Thoughts...

Who wants to chat about this book?

I have to say, my mind is twisted and I feel as if my life is in turmoil. Try as I might, I can't figure it out and my puzzle pieces are to two different puzzles!

Very reminiscent of Mean Girls, Becca is the Cady of the school. I felt for her; frustration, anger, longing, displacement, and even fear. Where I come from new people in school had nothing to worry about. Everyone got along with each other, we all may not have been friends as we all had our own cliques, but we were respectful to each other for the most part.

This book is interesting and frustrating but it is good. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book to see how the story continues.

I need to the secret!!

Grab your copy and try to find a Happily Ever After.

*Warning: This book is a cliffhanger!!

”It’s going to be okay, Becca. New town, new friends, a fresh start.”

Yeah, right.
Not when someone is determined to make her life miserable.

"I shouldn't...we shouldn't..." His eyes dropped to my mouth as he rasped out, "Fuck the rules. I'm done trying to be the good guy."

A guy she thinks she can trust, but even he is hiding something from her.

I've read the book and I still have no clue of what she's done. And I love that.

This was a free e-book I stumbled upon while browsing. Somehow the introduction sparked some interest in me and I wasn’t wrong.

I liked the story, it is not a masterpiece but not knowing why Becca and her parents moved so abruptly keeps you hooked. After reading this I know why I’m happy I’m no longer in high school or that environment. My God, that is toxic. Teenagers are the worst. Luckily Becca is strong minded because this could have easily been a 13 reasons why scenario.

If you do not like cliffhangers, this one is not for you because this ends in one of the biggest and worst cliffhangers I have ever encountered.

I’m going to look for book 2 now because I really need to know what happens next.

When I get a book that I read in 1 sitting and can't put it down, I know its going to be a great one. I've fancied reading Liar Liar a while now and decided to pick it up on Kindle.

Yep, this book is twisted, there's a huge suspense element, nice little twist and a cliffhanger too. I don't even want to talk about the story, I might give something away. Gutted there's no release date for Truth or Dare, but hoping I've not got to wait long.

Characters... I loved Evan and I think Becca grew on me as the story went on. Lily was one of those side characters I wanted to know here story.

I literally was consumed by this book and the story - 4 stars!

Secrets, secrets, and more secrets. I love books that have a strong mystery element. I’ve always gravitated toward stories that keep you guessing so it’s no surprise that I picked up Liar Liar by L.A. Cotton. I’ve read one book by her before, Loyalty and Lies, but it was the synopsis of Liar Liar that really caught my attention.

My favorite part of this book was the mystery and secrets. I couldn’t stop reading, because I wanted to learn the truth and see if my predictions were correct. There are a lot of secrets and a few twists that I really enjoyed. I just wish we got more information before the end. Which brings me to my next point, the ending.

There is a cliff-hanger and if you don’t like cliff-hangers then you won't like this book. When I reached the last page, I was left wanting more. We still don’t know what Becca was hiding from, Evan’s secrets, and why Scarlett behaved the way she did. I just wished she gave us a little more to hang onto before ending the book. We hardly scraped the surface of things before we’re given the old heave-ho.

Evan though was a winner. Even with his hot-and-cold attitude, I loved him. He definitely has his own secrets, but he can play the mysterious, brooding loner very well. I was also a fan of the romance. I loved the slow evolution of Evan and Becca. I thought they suffered from a few communications issues, but what’s a YA romance without a little miscommunication. If you love romance, then you’ll love Liar Liar. L.A. Cotton can certainly write some intense, steamy hot scenes.

My biggest problem with the book was Becca. She’s a very hard character to like. I didn’t like how much she was a pushover and she cared too much about what other’s thought, enough to change herself completely. I hope in the next book she becomes stronger character that can deal with peer pressure.

Overall, I enjoyed reading Liar Liar and I think many readers will agree. There are some flaws, but the series has potential and I’m left wanting more. I’ll check out the next installment in the series, because I want to know what these liars are up to...

I’m not a fan of cliffhangers. I think I’ve made that clear in more than one of my reviews on series books. Not because I can’t handle a wait, although I’m sure that could be a part of it, but mainly because by the time the second book comes out, I’m normally knee deep in other worlds (other books) and I forget. A lot.

But this story, this particular cliffhanger, was brilliantly done. As was the rest of the story.

It grips you from page one and in the authors typical style, keeps you flipping pages, offering just enough information (and I’ll admit, with as eager as I was for answers, maybe not enough information for this reader’s liking lol), to make sure that you never lose interest. It was raw, gripping and with some of the things that took place, often times real and completely impossible to put down once started.

I’m no stranger to a more suspenseful read, especially when it comes to this author, just as I’m no stranger the romance and the steaminess that comes from it, bringing it to life, making it real and tangible as only L.A. Cotton can.

For fear of giving anything away, I’m going to refrain from getting into the real nitty gritty of the plot and I will just say that if you’re a fan of anything this author has written before, books that keep you guessing, or even just looking for a world to get lost in that’s worth the chance, this is the story for you. Just remember what I said above. This is a series, there is a cliffhanger and a lot of unanswered questions you will have to wait in order to get answers to.

Another strong, well written and character driven story that was well worth the time that was invested. Now bring on book 2!

My thanks to the author and all others involved in letting me read an ARC of this story. I’m intrigued and more than a little ready for what lies next with this series and as always, with this author.

I generously received this ARC from IndieSagePR in exchange for an honest review…

From the very beginning I was captured by the words on the page. Liar Liar by L.A. Cotton was such a beautifully written book that left you on the edge of your seat wondering what Becca’s mysterious secret is. Unfortunately, this book ends with such an extraordinary cliffhanger that leaves you craving the conclusion. I’m not positive when the next book will be released, but as soon as it is, I will be pulling an all nighter to read it! I cannot wait until I am finally able to see what happens in the follow up! :)

Becca and her family are forced to move away from their beloved home after a mysterious “accident.” Leaving their comfortable life in Montecino, the move to a new town where Becca instantly feels like an outcast, something she’s never experienced before. Eventually she begins hanging out with a group of friends who prefer drinking and partying over studying. When Becca’s mysterious secret suddenly catches up with her, she must decide what to do in order to keep herself and her parents safe.

What the bloody cliffhanger?!?!

I'm starting it off with that because I loathe cliffy's but this one was sooo good and I just wanted to hunt down Lianne and curse at her and then hug her because she transported me back to high school and it was an awesome journey!

Becca has moved to a new school for a BIG reason unknown. You kind of pick up clues along the way but even by the end of the book you have no idea what that reason is completely.

So Becca is determined to not let whatever happened at her last school happen at this school so she is reinventing herself. Trying new things, making new friends and definitely not trusting herself.

High schoolers do what high schoolers do best, they judge her and tease her and bully her... particularly a certain girl that no doubt has her own secrets. But Becca settles in with a group of friends that ALSO have secrets and she meets a high school hunk, Evan, that is totally swoon worthy and also has secrets.

Liar Liar is the most appropriate title for a book filled with lies and deceptions and secrets that just when you think you have it figured out... you don't. Guess again.

Holy Liar Liar pants on fire! What the hell?!?

This story was full of BIG secrets, lies and twists. Becca and her family have moved to a new town, to start over. They left their old lives behind after something big happened to Becca.

Determined to try and leave the old Becca behind, and start afresh. Her first day at her new school doesn't go as planned. In fact her first week is full of kids teasing her, being bullied by the queen B and genuinely being an outcast.

She meets the mysterious Evan, who she can't stop thinking about, and eventually falling for. They both have secrets that they aren't keen on sharing.

Holy cliffhanger?!? I had so many questions by the end of the story, that I couldn't stop thinking about Evan and Becca. What is everyone hiding? What happened to Becca? And why does Kendall hate her so much.
