• Britney Spears addressed recent comments about her social media presence with a candid Instagram post, writing that she is "being authentic and as real as it gets."
  • Fans and critics alike have recently spread conspiracy theories about the pop star, claiming that she is in need of help due to the unconventional nature of her Instagram posts and TikToks.

Not everyone has been buying Britney Spears's recent social media posts. But the pop star has now made it clear that she's just being herself.

In a recent Instagram post, Spears addressed comments about her online presence, as fans and critics alike have questioned the unconventional nature of her social media posts, from recording herself dancing to filming herself modeling different outfits. Fans have even gone so far as to get the hashtags #SaveBritney and #FreeBritney trending on Twitter.

But over the weekend, Spears attempted to calm any concerns. She uploaded a graphic quoting the Bible verse 1 Corinthians 16:3. "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong," it read. In the caption, the singer wrote, "I get how some people might not like my posts or even understand them, but this is Me being happy ….. this is Me being authentic and as real as it gets !!!!! I want to inspire people to do the same and just be themselves without pleasing others ….. that's the key to happiness 🌸🌸🌸🌸 !!!!!!"

Ever since Spears canceled her Las Vegas residency and checked into a mental health facility last year, fans have been growing more skeptical about her well-being, especially as details of her father's conservatorship over her (which gives him control over her finances and other personal decisions) have come to light.

One instance that fueled fans' apprehension occurred in April, when Spears shared on social media a freak accident involving her gym and a couple of forgotten candles. Taking to Instagram Live, Spears casually revealed that she accidentally burned down her home gym, understandably raising many eyebrows.

"I haven't been in here for, like, six months, because I burnt my gym down, unfortunately," she said in a video. "I had two candles, and, yeah, one thing led to another, and I burned it down."

One user commented on the video, "It's like she's choked up and trying not to cry. Seems scared to me."

Another added, "Is that what actually happened? Are you okay Britney? Really worried about you."

The pop star is reassuring fans, however, that she's merely just being Britney.
