The Ashy Tailorbird (Orthotomus ruficeps) is a species of bird formerly placed in the "Old World warbler" assemblage, it but now placed in the family Cisticolidae. It is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical mangrove forests.

This is a common breeding resident in Singapore.

It mainly inhabits mangroves.

It is not likely to be confused with other tailorbirds because it has a grey plumage with rufous face.
