Katrina Kaif grew up in multiple countries before living in London for three years, after which she moved to India. She began her career as a model in London. She was noticed by Indian filmmaker Kaizad Gustad at a fashion show, and he cast her in his film, Boom, which was released in 2003. Her major commercial hits were action thriller films Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Dhoom 3 (2013), and Bang Bang! (2014). Her portrayal of an alcoholic actress in the 2018 film Zero earned her a Zee Cine Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also received a Filmfare nomination in the same category.

Her 2019 drama movie Bharat and 2021 action-thriller Sooryavanshi went on to become box-office hits. Katrina Kaif got married to actor Vicky Kaushal on December 9, 2021.

The government will assign a special officer to look into the deepfake menace on online platforms and also to assist citizens in filing FIRs as and when they spot fake content online, Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on Friday. This comes after the internet witnessed a surge in deepfake videos (a technological phenomenon that blurs the line between reality and fiction). A string of deepfake videos of Bollywood actors including Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif and Kajol went viral online over the last month, which raised serious concerns.
