How’s the sushi at Zanmai Sushi?

I was craving for sushi so I asked 10 of my classmates to recommend me a Japanese restaurant to have sushi. 6 of them recommended Zanmai Sushi 🍣 So, I decided to check out Zanmai Sushi at Quayside Mall.

First impression: ZS has a nice interior. But, it was quite noisy because there were a few family with kids dining (probably because it was a public holiday). The staff quickly got a table ready for me as soon as a group of customer was leaving. He also kindly informed me to expect a slight delay due to high volume of order. But he served my hot green tea first before I order my food.

HERE’S A TASTE TEST AT ZANMAI SUSHI:

1. Takoyaki for appetizer was 10/10! LOVED how melting the inside of the takoyaki was🤤. The mentai sauce on top was also just to my liking. CAUTION ⚠️: let the takoyaki cool off a bit if you don’t wanna burn your tongue 🥵

2. Mentaiko Zanmai was good. It consisted of one sushi of salmon, egg, prawn, scallop, calamari and octopus. The perfect choice if you crave for sushi with seafood. Definitely taste better than sushi that you get from sushi belts but the rice tasted a lil sour for me😅

3. Shoyu ramen tasted average. Maybe I’m just not a big fan of Japanese ramen. I liked the clear soup tho. Well seasoned.

4. Itachoco Monaka was almost 10/10. The taste was 10/10 because it’s not too sweet and the vanilla ice cream with thin chocolate piece in the middle tasted marvelous to me. It gets harder to cut into smaller pieces after the the waffle start getting soggy from the melting ice cream.
