What should I do on social media? You need to see this... Social media is anything you want it to be. Now, you have to be careful and use social media and your social presence rightly. What we can do using social media is much. You can 📍 share love 📍 help others 📍 advice people 📍 encourage others 📍 connect with people 📍 impact others positively 📍 create opportunities for others. Study and look closely how Luke , Jasmin, Matt, Lara and many other positive creators use their social presence. Today is Sunday, let's share love. ➡ Be the reason someone is ready to face tomorrow. ➡ Be the hope someone has to face life's challenges. Something happened in church today. I am not strong at all, physically down, and an elder celebrating his birthday today noticed. He said, “Francis, what is wrong with you? Something is not right?” My advice: Someone is out there looking out for you. You're not alone. Be encouraged… PS: This is my today's picture. I must be strengthened before my birthday. #SundayMotivation #SocialMedia #SocialPresence #ContentCreator #ContentWriting #HappySunday #HappyNewWeek

It does feel a little uncomfortable when a close acquaintance refers to you in a comment with both first and last names, doesn't it? Seriously, if we've become well acquainted in person or even on social media, there is no reason to refer to me as @ginger-weeden, just Ginger works better if you want to stay friendly and connected. Just as many features in LinkedIn come and go (like all social media platforms), the ability to delete the last name of a person's handle has returned to full functionality. Type out the handle (@ginger-weeden, for example), then backspace once (just once!) to delete the last name. That makes the comment more approachable to the recipient and allows you to come across as the valuable connection and good friend that you are. #setinmotionmarketing #socialmediamarketing

In the spirit of Halloween, I’ve put together a few common social media nightmares that I see on LinkedIn. Don't scare your network with these frightening mistakes. They undermine the success of your personal branding and business development efforts on this platform. - Boastful, self-serving posts (when you say you’re “honored and humbled” you sound the opposite - the focus of your posts should be to help others and show versus tell). - Mass tagging of people in posts (the equivalent of spamming someone on LinkedIn) - you may think these with help garner interest on your post but all it does is annoy people. - Salesy, untargeted solicitations (especially right after you connect with someone). - Hashtag spam and misuse of hashtags - don’t use more than five hashtags per post. - Sharing posts without introductory text (a huge missed opportunity to engage with your network and the equivalent of forwarding an email without any context). - Not actively building your network and just passively accepting requests (LinkedIn is a two-way street and you’re missing out on maximizing your network) - Putting any text in all caps on your profile especially your name (this is the equivalent of SHOUTING at someone). Also referring to yourself in formal terms - LinkedIn is a place to be relatable. - Not customizing your LinkedIn cover image. This is prime real estate on the top of your profile. Make sure to include your contact info on it. - Not maximizing your LinkedIn headline (you get 220 characters to brand yourself, why aren’t you?) - Not posting anything - especially with only 1% of users regularly posting on the platform there’s tons of (free) opportunities to stand out and brand yourself. Just always provide value in your posts. Which of these resonates most with you? Happy Halloween! #linkedintips #socialselling #socialmediamarketing #linkedinmarketing #bestadvice
