Today, Penang unveils plans for its IC Design and Digital Park. This park will be offering 1 million square feet of premium office space to house high-impact projects including IC Design, R&D, Global Business Services, digital technologies investments, and a circular digital economy ecosystem. Spanning 105-acre in Bayan Lepas Industrial Park, this project will be conducted in two phases with a total cost of RM655 million. Phase one, involving two pioneering office buildings, namely GBS By The Sea and GBS Techspace is expecting to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2024. Phase two, involving an establishment of an additional building, GBS@TechnoPlex, which is targeted to be ready by 2027. The Penang State Government is in progress to formulate an incentive package to strategic investors who are interested in further enhancing and complementing the hub. In addition, the State will also be applying to Federal Government to obtain the incentive/grant to strengthen the current ecosystem. Through these efforts, Penang commits to continue to deliver exceptional infrastructure, conducive facilities and attractive amenities to anchor Penang’s pioneer position in the IC design and digital industries. Health technology is impacting all key patient touchpoints across the care continuum to drive more proactive, preventative, and personalised care delivery models. 🔷 Advanced diagnostic tools, powered by technologies like #artificialintelligence and #machinelearning, are enabling faster and more accurate identification of health conditions. This not only expedites the diagnostic process but also ensures early detection and intervention, leading to improved patient outcomes. 🔷 Health technology is enhancing treatment outcomes by providing personalised and targeted interventions. #Telemedicine platforms enable patients to consult with healthcare providers remotely, reducing barriers to access and increasing convenience. #Wearabledevices equipped with monitoring capabilities, allow for more precise and effective treatments tailored to each patient's unique needs. 🔷 The ability to remotely monitor a patient's health condition and have access to health status in real-time is truly a game changer in #diseasemonitoring. Real-time data collection and analytics facilitate early detection of health issues and enable timely interventions, ultimately leading to better management of chronic conditions and improving overall #healthoutcomes. However, it's crucial to prevent new innovative technologies from widening the #digitaldivide and ensure #equitableaccess to healthcare for all population segments. Apart from addressing regulatory and reimbursement concerns, there are still issues to resolve, such as inequitable access to the digital infrastructure, lack of #healthliteracy, and the training and support necessary for effectively delivering health technology. 🔺 Technology is only part of the equation; for #digitaltransformation to truly make health systems more equitable, accessible, and safe, we must focus on people and processes and build a human-centered approach to drive meaningful change 🔺

The EU has approved the EU AI Act, the world's first legal framework on AI will be the most comprehensive AI legislation seen anywhere in the world to date, but it is not only specific to Europe; any global organization that develops or deploys AI systems within the EU will need to comply. And as business leaders, we need to understand this technology more deeply instead of allowing the fear of not using it responsibly to impact the levels of investment and innovation.
