PETALING JAYA, Feb 16 — Former PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa tells the party leadership there is no need to expel him for criticising them.

He said what he did was allowed in Islam and his actions were based on facts.

“There is no need to expel me as I was just giving constructive criticisms for the betterment of the party. There is nothing wrong with it.” he said.

“However, I am ready to face the party disciplinary committee to explain my actions and I will be accountable for what I had said and done.

“I will take full responsibility and will defend myself the best I can,” he said.

Last week, PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said Husam could face action including expulsion for his public criticisms.

On Saturday, the party’s deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said after the party’s Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting Husam would be referred to the disciplinary committee over his repeated criticisms and allegations against the party.

Tuan Ibrahim said the CWC believed the complaints lodged against Husam had merit and would leave Husam’s fate to the disciplinary committee.

Husam, who is Salor assemblyman in Kelantan, had been vocal of the party leadership particularly over the implementation of hudud in the state, for which the PAS-led government had failed to table a private member’s bill in Parliament to pave way for implementation.

Husam had also claimed party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang attempted to form a unity government with Umno following the Selangor menteri besar’s crisis in 2014.

He also called for Hadi’s resignation for new faces to steer the party as well as to end the confusion that had engulfed it.
