KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 — DAP’s Lim Kit Siang said today he wishes for Datuk Husam Musa to be the next Kelantan mentri besar after the 14th general elections.
According to Lim, the Parti Amanah Negara vice-president can be a new role model not only for Kelantan citizens, but also Malaysians in other states.
“I hope that Datuk Husam Musa will be the new Kelantan Mentri Besar in the Hari Raya Aidilfitri next year, and I will return to Kota Baru next year to attend the new Pakatan Harapan Kelantan state government Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House,” Lim said at a DAP Aidilfitri event in the Kelantan capital.
The DAP parliamentary leader said Husam can be just like the late PAS spiritual adviser and Kelantan mentri besar Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat, who had inspired even those who were not PAS members.
“If Husam is elected as the new Kelantan mentri besar after the 14th general elections, he will become a new role model not only for Kelantanese but Malaysians in other states as well.
“Malaysians are in critical need of role models,” the Gelang Patah MP said.
Husam was one of Nik Aziz’s protégés, and had widely been tipped to succeed the latter before his ouster from PAS.
The Salor state assemblyman had join Amanah in August last year before he was appointed vice-president in April this year.
