“First there was the very big reclining Buddha and then there were the very little novices,” says this photo shop manager from Bangkok, Thailand, of the enormous statue in Ayutthaya that makes monks seem lilliputian. “Some believe that buying new cloth for the Buddha will result in good luck. When I saw these beautiful things—the white of the Reclining Buddha, the blue sky, the yellow cloth, and the orange robes of the novices—it was good luck to me. I took the picture at once.”
