South Korean actress Park Min Young opened up about her dating scandal that made headlines last year. The ‘Marry My Husband’ star was dating controversial businessman Kang Jong Hyun. Her relationship with the businessman came to light after he got involved in alleged crimes. He was accused of fraud, embezzlement, and stock market manipulation and was arrested early last year. Soon after his crimes and their relationships came to light, it was reported that the couple had parted ways.
Park Min Young stayed away from the limelight following the scandal. However, earlier this week, she met the press to promote her new series Marry My Husband. During the press conference, Park Min Young opened up about the scandal and apologised for it.
As reported by Koreaboo, the Healer actress said, “Honestly, this past year, my body, health, and mind all suffered. So, I was wondering if I could take on this project when the director called me.” She added that ‘lived with regret every day’ during the crisis period. “It felt like a lesson where I realized I am my ‘pretty and shining’ self only when I’m immersed in acting on a set, just like I used to do before,” she said.
“I’ve accepted everything now, and I wanted to talk about the inconvenience I caused. I wish I had done this sooner, but now that I’m in better health, I sincerely apologize to those who loved and cherished me…I’ve always tried to become an actor you can be proud of for 20 years, but I have many regrets now. I’m making an effort to be better, so please watch over me,” the South Korean actress added.
Marry My Husband premiered on January 1. The series stars Park Min Young, Na In Woo, Lee Yi Kyung, and Song Ha Yoon. In India, the series streams on Amazon Prime Video.
