Megan Fox wants to put the nail in the coffin of Angelina Jolie comparisons, even if it means burying her career.

The “Transformers” star has turned down the role of Lara Croft because she doesn’t want to be compared with the original star (who reprised the role in “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life”), Showbiz Spy reports.

“The offer has been on the table for Megan for a while but she’s reluctantly turned it down,” an insider told the entertainment Web site. “She’s the logical choice to play Lara and she loves the character but the comparison with Angelina [Jolie] is too much.”

The 23-year-old star has been fighting comparisons with Jolie since she rose to fame in 2007 as Shia LaBeouf‘s right hand woman in “Transformers.” Fox insists that magazines only equate her with the pillowy lipped A-lister because they want to put her in a “box.”

“I am a brunette with tattoos, I curse and I have made mention of sex before,” she told the press last year. “I joked about it which people find outrageous so they want to constantly compare that to her.”

Though an inarguable sex symbol who has made the “hot” lists of virtually every men’s magazine on the market, Fox recently revealed she has only slept with two men.

“I can never have sex with someone that I don’t love, ever,” she told UK‘s Harper’s Bazaar. “The idea makes me sick. I’ve never even come close to having a one-night stand.”

The actress is currently in an off-on relationship with Brian Austin Green and is set to appear next in the thriller “Passion Play” opposite Mickey Rourke.
