We've been doing a daily countdown to Season 12 of "The Biggest Loser," which premieres on Sept. 20, but today's the first day it actually feels close.

That's because the new cast for "Battle of the Ages" (worst season title ever) has been introduced.

The 15 poor souls listed at the bottom of this post will have to experience the ranch, sans Jillian Michaels.

Wait. Did I just call them poor? It's we the viewers who will suffer! The contestants get off easy.

Not that I'm not openminded about what Dolvett Quince and that blonde stick figure will bring to the table. ...Bob Harper, you know we love you even more now, buddy!

The full contents of the NBC press release are, as I said, below. But for now, let's talk about how there is only one 30-something and she's kind of, almost, out of our jurisdiction, so to speak. I was so hoping there would be a nice 33- or 34-year-old to root for. You know, one of my people.

But the 39-year-old is named Jennifer, so she'll certainly do for now.

Time to meet our new BL pals. Cue the press release:

The new contestants include Vinny Hickerson, who overcame a difficult childhood to become a successful Nashville recording artist, Antone Davis, a 447-pound father of four and former NFL player for the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons, and Jennifer Rumple, a television producer who has accomplished every goal she has set for herself except one – losing weight.

Viewers will also meet Jessica Limpert, a travelling registered nurse whose long work shifts make it more challenging to eat healthy, Patrick Ferrari, who wants to lose weight to pass the physical agility test required to pursue his dream of being a police officer, and Bonnie Griffin, a 63-year-old grandmother of six who lost her home to Hurricane Katrina and lost her husband not long after.

The new contestants competing for the $250,000 grand prize are:

PATRICK FERRARI (Mental health adult foster care worker), 26, Albany, Oregon

JESSICA LIMPERT (Travel nurse), 26, San Francisco, California
