Super Junior Kyuhyun suffers injury after woman attacks him with knife

Kyuhyun was confronted by a woman in her 30s while he was preparing for his musical performance backstage at Seoul's LG Arts Center.

Super Junior member Kyuhyun recently became a victim of a knife attack. The singer was confronted by a woman in her 30s while he was preparing for his musical performance backstage at Seoul's LG Arts Center. Kyuhyun was there to perform at the venue. 

Kyuhyun injured in a knife attack

According to TV Chosun, Kyuhyun was in danger from the invader, who was armed with a knife. The singer was getting ready for his gig when the strange encounter happened, and he was slightly hurt. Luckily, the incident did no major injury, since he received first aid on the spot right away. A video of him leaving the venue also surfaced online, in which he was seen waving at his fans.

 

Police acted quickly to the incident, detaining the thirty-something woman and initiating a comprehensive investigation. Remarkably, early reports indicate that the woman does not appear to be related to any of the musical's performers, which begs the issue of why she would do such a thing and how she obtained unauthorized entry to the dressing area after the show.

Kyuhyun's agency issues statement 

Kyuhyun's agency, Antenna, swiftly issued a formal statement regarding the incident. The statement claims that the singer received emergency medical assistance at the site after the confrontation due to a minor cut on his finger.

The agency told iMBC, "Kyuhyun suffered a minor abrasion on his finger and was treated immediately at the scene.” Additionally, they reassured worried fans that Kyuhyun is taking care of himself.

Currently, Kyuhyun is playing the lead role in a Korean adaptation of the Ben-Hur musical, which narrates the tale of a mythical Jewish hero who was mistakenly suspected of a Roman assassination attempt.

In 2006, the actor-singer debuted with one of the biggest boy bands in the nation, Super Junior. He has now made a name for himself as a musical actor as well.
