HEALTH

 An accident is an unexpected, unplanned,

TYPE OF ACCIDENTS
The most frequent accidents in the workplace.
• Fall and crushing
-Wet or contaminated conditions
-Result in head injuries, broken bones and major fractures to -
limbs and even death where the fall is from height.
• Manual handling
-Activity that includes lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling,
carrying, moving, holding or restraining an object, animal or
person.
-Musculoskeletal disorders to backs, strains to hands, arms,
feet, tendons and heart.
• Workplace traffic accidents
-Struck by a moving vehicle, falling from, or materials falling
from, a vehicle and the collapse or overturning of a vehicle.

legislative framework to secure the safety, health
and welfare among all Malaysian workforces and to
protect others against risks to safety or health in
connection with the activities of persons at work
 Gazetted on 24th February 1994

OBJECTIVES OF OSHA 1994
 Secure the safety, health and welfare of persons at work

 Promote an occupational environment for persons at work
which is adapted to their physiological and psychological

  • 14. SAFETY  Safety is an environment that is free of accidents and occupational diseases that may cause personal injury or ill health to employees.
  • 15. HEALTH  Health is the physical and psychological well being of employees in and out of the workplace.  Health is a state of complete well being, not merely and absence of illness.
