The new catchphrase, “Endless Possibilities”, has recently joined “1Malaysia” in the nation’s sloganeering legacy. Together, they strike an unusual chord of irony: the infinitude of the former subverts the singularity of the latter.
What if there were more than 1Malaysia? What if there were Endless Possibilities to 1Malaysia? Would there be 2Malaysia, 3Malaysia, 4Malaysia, ad infinitum?
As citizens of the 50-year-old Malaysia, let us take this opportune moment to re-imagine a Malaysia another-than-“1Malaysia”.
