Sepi Shyne

Sepi Shyne is a Democrat running for election to an open seat in thethe U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 30th Congressional district.

Shyne was first elected to public office in 2020, winning a seat on the West Hollywood City Council. She is currently as Mayor of West Hollywood. Shyne was born in Iran and immigrated with her family to the U.S. when she was 5 following the overthrow of the Shah and establishment of the current fundamentalist religious regime. She became a U.S. citizen when she was 16.

Her priority issues are housing affordability and addressing the homelessness crisis, leveling the playing field for working people and small businesses, and protecting the rights of women, LGBTQ people, and people of color.
