As an owner of a Sharingan, I know a certain degree about genjutsu. And right now, I knew I was stuck inside one. But, it was not something that someone had put over me. Rather, I had put myself under this cloak of lies.

Black Space Jutsu.

One of the forbidden jutsus, a genjutsu that can wipe out selected memories of the caster. It was a jutsu used by a Hidden Rock Village ninja that was caught infiltrating Konoha at one point. A technique designed to thwart the specialty of the Yamanaka clan. Sadly, the jutsu didn't stand a chance.

The jutsu was quite simple. The caster activates the technique by relieving the memories he wishes to erase temporarily. Next, he chooses a key—a memory that once remembered, would return his 'stored' memories.

And, this is the very same jutsu that I had put myself under.

The night of the massacre—was the key to my memories. And now, I faced my own demons in this dream like world.

In my 'dreams', I saw a mirror—and in it, was a reflection of my subconscious.

She looked younger, wearing that same old ninja forehead protector. Her hair was longer, trimmed properly—according to Uchiha tradition. Although her eyes mirrored my Sharingan, there was a glint in her eyes that seemed foreign to me. Hope.

She looked nothing like the person I am today.

"Do you really want to relieve it all over again?"

It was 'my' voice—only it was soft and serene. Concern was etched on her features. And it was weird seeing my face express that emotion over myself.

"You know you can't stop it." I muttered, replying to my reflection.

"I do."

She whispered back. I looked at her deadly pale visage one last time, before I shattered the mirror in front of me.

The memories came flooding in.

"Don't die—!!" I remember the pain.

The pain of losing someone. The pain of continuously failing to protect my loved ones. The pain of being abandoned. The pain of knowing you're the only one left.

"Don't die." I remember death. The snow that day, and the face of my brother who was worried to death.

"Too late." I whispered back with a sad smile. "You're killing me, Sasuke-nii." I joked.

Immediately, he shot up and looked at me with tears in his eyes. Oh, Sasuke-nii—our poor Sasuke-nii. My awareness faded in and out, and the last thing I remember was his relieved face—along with the bridge builder and Sakura.
