Is there anything more adorable than an embryonic lump of amorphous flesh floating in a fluid-filled amniotic sack? Well, yes, when it's a human fetus: perhaps I'm alone in this, but whenever I see ultrasounds, all I can think of is that I'm looking at the fetal form of a future jerk. But baby animals? I melt.

Above, what the next stage of evolution would look like, hovering in outer space, if an elephant had licked the monolith in 2001. The baby elephant is six months into its two-year gestation period and was created with a combination of 3D ultrasound scans and tiny cameras inserted into the mother's womb. Adorable.
