With a passion in sports, fitness and nutrition, <strong>Hansen</strong> didn’t start<br />

off his career on the path towards the entertainment industry. After<br />

his education in California in 2003, he headed back to Kuala<br />

Lumpur to pursuit his passion. Fully immersed into all there was to<br />

know about the fitness industry, it wasn’t long before Hanson not<br />

only became a Personal Trainer but was also one of the first few in<br />

Malaysia to get ACE certified; thus making him a Certified Personal<br />

Trainer and Weight Management Consultant.<br />

Three years later, with one foot still firmly set in the fitness industry and another dappling in a fair bit of<br />

modelling, <strong>Hansen</strong> took a friend’s dare to join a Radio DJ search. And won. He became a radio DJ on <strong>Fly</strong><br />

FM and it was then clear that this was his first step into the entertainment industry. 2006 continued to be<br />

a great year for <strong>Hansen</strong>. A Radio DJ, a regional finalist in the GUESS Faces to Watch model search, and<br />

by the end of the year, an audition as a host on NTV7’s Breakfast Show; a show he still hosts till today.<br />

The years to follow just saw more and more opportunities for <strong>Hansen</strong>. He took on the challenge of not just<br />

hosting but also scriptwriting for new web show, The Gua Center and in 2008, hosted the reality series<br />

The Ultimate Prom Night, which gave him more airtime to flex his hosting skills on prime time<br />

television. All this while, he was also booked to emcee events from fashion parties to corporate annual<br />

dinners. <strong>Hansen</strong> got his first opportunity to host on a regional level by guest hosting an episode of E!<br />

News on E channel. As a host, he has interviewed many personalities including Michael Schumacher, Tan<br />

Sri Tony Fernandes, Hooberstank and Edward James Olmos. His professionalism, charisma, ability to<br />

command a crowd and of course, towering 6’1” stature has also made him a sought after emcee for<br />

functions and events.<br />

However, he didn’t just stop there. Always looking to further develop his skills, <strong>Hansen</strong> enrolled into onscreen<br />

acting courses in 2007 and 2008 with the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) from<br />

Australia. After completing the courses, he was hooked. With yet another accomplishment under his belt,<br />

<strong>Hansen</strong> decided to explore new environments which took him to Singapore in 2009. Once there, he was<br />

immediately casted for Channel 5 hit series, titled Polo Boys followed by a French TV series, Déjà vu,<br />

where filming took place in Danang, Vietnam.<br />

Since then, <strong>Hansen</strong> had a diverse set of roles under his belt. Casted by acclaimed director, Royston Tan, in<br />

his special made-for-TV short movie, Birdsong Trilogy, was part of the cast ensemble for Aki Nabalu, a<br />

mini-series set in World War II screened on Astro Citra, and the male lead for Di Telapak Kaki Bonda, a<br />

Bahasa Malaysia telemovie made for Hari Raya. To diversify from dramas, <strong>Hansen</strong> took on a role in<br />

Crossings, a 13 episode aired on NTV7 to show his comedic side.<br />

So far, <strong>2012</strong> has been a busy year: Hosting a reality show, shooting a reality drama series and taking on<br />

his first chinese sitcom role, <strong>Hansen</strong> is taking things to the next level. Currently in New York honing his craft<br />

as an actor at the highly regarded school, William Esper Studio, <strong>Hansen</strong> will be back in Asia after the<br />

summer with some new tricks up his sleeve.
