Orpheus Capital inks partnership agreement with RS Unggul for agriculture, food projects

KUALA LUMPUR: Orpheus Capital Sdn Bhd today has entered into Islamic factoring term sheet agreement with RS Unggul, a small and medium enterprise (SME) agriculture supplier and food company.

Orpheus Capital, a fully Shariah compliant digital factoring company, said the agreement was signed for the purpose of scaling up RS Unggul agriculture and food projects especially to the cooperatives in Malaysia.

Orpheus Capital co-founder and chief executive officer Hamudi A Khalid said the partnership aims to assist the small agriculture planters and raise their standard of living.

Hamudi said in this respect, the company is eager to extend Orpheus Capital's syariah factoring facilities and continue with its development work in the SMEs sector, especially in the critical industries.

"In addition, this facility will play an important role in improving access to affordable agriculture goods and help local planters to get better prices for their products.

"The developmental impact of our products and services are integral part of our DNA and via this factoring facility support, RS Unggul are able to create several decent jobs as well improve the cash flows of the SMEs, especially those un-bankable, underserved and unserved SMEs, in the whole value chain," he said.

He also said Orpheus Capital wishes to further contribute towards the growth of the nation by ensuring that SME enterprises partnering with the company will have quick access to cash flow financing at reasonable cost.

"This will be one among many of the various endeavors we plan to undertake to serve as a catalyst in promoting the participation and success of the various SME enterprises in our current economic climate", he said.

Meanwhile, RS Unggul chief executive officer Shaharani Saood said by providing the critical funding that RS Unggul requires, it helps the company to execute very crucial projects, and this signifies the trust Orpheus Capital has with us.
