Hotel Review 2023 – AVANI Sepang GoldCoast Resort

Looking for a Polynesian meet Maldives kind of ambience? No, you don’t have to get expensive flight tickets and such…. It is just an easy drive from Kuala Lumpur or KLIA, and hey, you will find yourself in a whole new world. How does sleeping, eating and spoiling yourself with a great spa sesh overwater? How about some quality family time?

AVANI Sepang GoldCoast Resort is the place to be with sprawling family villas, Polynesian-style gardens to play in, and golden beaches to do archery, go on ATV joyrides, fly kites, picnic on and when the sun goes down, you shouldn’t miss the most amazing of sunsets over colourful cocktails and the breathtaking fire show that is exclusively only for hotel guests!!! Part of Thailand-based Minor Hotel Group, AVANI Sepang GoldCoast Resort in Malaysia is located on Malaysia’s west coast in the state of Selangor, just about 45 minutes drive from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Sepang International Circuit….

AVANI Sepang GoldCoast Resort has a distinctive design in the shape of a palm with plenty of facilities to cater to your needs from a choice of three restaurants and a lounge, a spa, an extensive selection of activities and an 840 square metre ballroom.

Surrounded by the sheltered waters of Malaysia’s Malacca Straits, AVANI Sepang GoldCoast Resort offers a secluded tropical hideaway that blends easy accessibility with a feeling of getting away from it all. Set along Sepang GoldCoast’s 22 kilometre shore, the resort comes with a mainland beachfront setting with lush gardens and a palm structure built on stilts which extends over warm shallow waters. The overwater palm features 392 contemporary Polynesian-inspired guest rooms and one, two and three bedroom villas, all with a gorgeous sea view.

Checking in was a breeze which included a warm welcome from the hotel team, a Mah Meri tribal performance, cold towels and welcome drinks before being taken to our 2 bedroom villa by private buggy.

The three restaurants include Sepoi Sepoi where you can indulge in authentic local dishes and chill at the garden area. Stop by first thing for a freshly brewed cuppa. Take a break at airy tables for lunch. Pop in for an afternoon snack. Feast on a Malaysian-Chinese menu. Sepoi-sepoi is your casual, communal cabana.

Translating as “anytime”, Bila Bila’s all day international buffet and a la carte offerings can be enjoyed in air conditioned indoor comfort or on an outdoor deck with a sea breeze

Hai Sang Lou is the resort’s Chinese fine dining specialty restaurant serving both lunch and dinner.

I am absolutely loving the bold flavours and fresh ingredients here at Hai Sang Lou’s in a stylish Chinese themed ambience and pssst you can get an amazing sunset view here too

An ideal meeting place is The Pantry, a contemporary designer deli that has everything to fill you up on the go. Choose from Artisan salads and sandwiches, cold pressed juices, coffee or tea and snacks. This is healthy comfort food at its very best that comes with an amazing ambience…

For business guests, the resort has four meeting rooms and a large ballroom which can accommodate 1,000 for a conference, 650 for a dinner and up to 1,200 for a cocktail reception.

Unwind and sunbathe to your heart’s content and take refreshing dips in the resort’s swimming pool. Spoil yourself with AVANI SPA treatments for total wellbeing and a gourmet spa menu of personalised packages or head to the fitness centre for a good workout…

Enjoying the resort’s facilities and getting around is easy. Guests can hop on one of the available buggys to travel around the resort or take one of the bicycles set aside for hotel guest usage….A great range of local tours are available, including a mangrove river cruise and visits to a local village to delve into rural life.

Sepang is also home to Sepang International Circuit and there are occasional races that brings adrenalin pumping glamour to the area, so for speed junkies or even for an exciting heart stopping experience… been there, done that, and it is nail biting tension and lots of shocked gasps and cheers

We stayed over at AVANI Sepang GoldCoast Resort’s spacious Two Bedroom Villas which can comfortably sleep five in restful, overwater bliss.

Ee Wen and I called dibs on the master bedroom as it came with a huge bathroom and a nice tub.

Everyone found their own space and quickly got comfortable…and it was just perfect!!!

And if you are staying at Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort, you really shouldn’t miss put on the exclusive fire show at the beach area… now there are normal fireshows and there are FIRE Shows and this is just really amazing!!!!

Breakfast at Bila-Bila was a wonderful experience with a generous spread, too and may I commend the F&B staff who went out of their way to fulfill my requests of wanting some tetrapaks and used plastic bottles for my sustainability hunt…
